By far and large, this tiny café is Laredo’s best kept secret. A small family run restaurant tucked in a corner of a strip mall — you’d be hard pressed to find it unless you knew they were there. I went under a recommendation of a coworker to satisfy my torta craving. The chef-owner is a sweet woman, who dispute our massive language barrier(she speaks little to no english, and my Spanish knowledge includes few verbs) fumbled through my order and let me try several items on the menu. This was one of the best tortas I’ve had, and the only place I will order them in Laredo going forward. Food is flavorful, consistent in quality, and always fresh. It’s like going to eat at your grandmother’s house. Make sure to stop on in and give them a try
