Chano’s Patio

The only reason I am giving it 3 stars, is because of the horrible customer service I received on my first visit. The food is great, dont get me wrong, but the 1 hour wait was definitely unpleasant. It’s not that I was impatient, I got there before some people with bigger parties and they got served 20 – 30 min before I ever even got my appetizer. There was not a whole lot of people and this slipped through. The cashier was not aware of this issue, and therefore the 3 star rating. Its a great place to be, closest thing to Austin, great music, and great food. Hopefully next time I make a visit, the employees are alot more attentive.

This place serves some of the best burgers and sandwiches in town! I have eaten here many times and have always had a great meal. My favorite item on the menu is the Cosmic Cluck, which is the smoked chicken sandwich. The ambience is unique and the staff is wonderful!

The Austin burger is a yummy brisket topped burger it’s better if you order the larger sized burger so the bun matches the meat size. A smaller sized burger gets you a smaller bun and the burger falls apart. Otherwise it’s a great tasting burger. The brisket tacos are yummy too!

This place is so worth breaking the diet! I had the burger with brisket in it along with some fried pickles. Everything was delicious. The ambiance is great. Outdoor seating only so be prepared to ya Kyle to outdoor weather. Hot or cold

Went for the first time last night, had the Austin burger. It was so delicious. Definitely coming back soon!

Amazing food and great atmosphere! Definitely does not feel like you’re in Laredo. Average prices, BYOB. Recommend the burger «Mi Tierra» (chorizo, avocado, and queso Oaxaca) and the «Dumpster» (smoked chopped brisket, chilli, cheddar cheese, and Fritos) Highly recommend this place!

We had the Chorizo/​Avocado burger and hands down this was the best burger ive ever had in my life. Loved it!

Yummy burgers but way too over priced. Very hot in Laredo to be eating outside. For that price… I would prefer a fancier place that is air conditioned.

Great food, formidable ambient, average pricing, BYOB you cant beat that!, great burgers, the service is good but takes time to bring the food.

I don’t mind waiting for good food. It’s nice to have a different atmosphere other than fast food and tacos in Laredo. Hope Chano’s stays open.

Great atmosphere, you get that «out of town» feeling. I went awhile back with my fiancé and we thought the food was decent. She had the trash pie and I had the Austin burger. Prices are steep but it’s well worth it. BYOB is a plus and so is the live music. Only real down side is the lack of consistency in their schedule. It appears to have gotten better but they tend to close for a few days then open and so on. Either way, great job guys!!! Keep up the good work.

I have been here 4 times and all 4 times they are closed. I will not come back. I tried to call them and the number has been disconnected. The sign said they would return at 11:00; it is 12:45.

Best buck for your bite. They estimate your wait for food is 20 – 25 mins. They claim it’s because they are not fast food. Nevertheless, I’ve been to other burger joints where faster service is delivered and the quality of the burger is not sacrificed. Overall, Chanos provides a good atmosphere to eat a decent burger.

This place is the real deal fro great Texas BBQ. I had the El Toro (Beef Brisket) the sandwich was loaded and the brisket was not disappointing. The service was great the outdoor patio had a great vibe to it and the music was excellent. Will definately go back again. This is a hidden gem!

So far really nice place the all outdoor seating really makes it pop very ARTISTIC & has lots of character. The food was average. I believe they have a great idea combining flavors but when you cook the burger well done it leaves little to be desired. Really need to have a place for trash on each table since they have fans out napkins blow all over the place and had left ketchup on my napkin and it blew on me this would be a different review. The ice being out in the open I don’t think is very sanitary so bring your own. BOB sounds great until you find out you have to pay for the pleasure 5 bucks a 6 pack. Really? You have the same seating if you order it and eat it in the parking lot sans the fans. I believe it’s fun to go to once but I probably won’t go back. I understand that since laredo does not have many foodie place this will last for a while but not more than another year.

So the guy was not directly rude to me, so there’s that. And truthfully this is more of a four star place, but it’s currently sitting at like 5 stars, which is misleading. It’s closer to 3 stars than 5 stars.
The food was pretty good, but not exactly life-​changing. It’s about what you’d expect when you opt for fancier buns and higher-​grade beef from your supplier. I prefer the burger from Capataz. By Austin standards, it’s more or less at Hut’s level. You go for the novelty of it, but after trying it, you don’t exactly crave it.
But do people come back for the atmosphere. And this place does have atmosphere. Kudos to the landscapers for that. And the painters and carpenters who set up the stage area. Unfortunately, on this stage, there was a terrible cover band that was so loud we could barely carry on a conversation. Now, terrible cover bands are practically a tradition in Laredo, so I can be fairly forgiving on that front, even though they usually aren’t a problem one encounters outside of bars. However, at Chano there is nowhere to sit where you are not subject to this auditory onslaught.
Based on the information I had received before trying this place, it had a fairly positive opening. I get the impression that the owners/​operators took this success and allowed it to go to their heads. For instance, the décor gives the impression that the proprietors are these laidback guys, all about «freedom» and «love». That this is a place you can just kick back and chill with your friends. So you think, «Awesome» and that this is «so austin» of them!
And then you show up with a six pack, and are told that there is a «corking» fee for this six pack. And if you’re not eating anything, then you have to pay, what, 35 bucks just for the privilege of hanging out there? Seriously, get over yourselves. There’s nothing stopping any of your customers from having carne asadas at their houses with better music for half the money.
All that said, it would be wrong to say that this was not one of the better dining experiences in Laredo, but mood counts for a lot, and the arrogant attitude that the policies reflect is offputting, so much so that I can only justify 3 stars. From the other reviews about the rudeness of some of the staff, I get the sense that my intuition is not far off from the truth here.

Great atmosphere, the food takes sometime to make, especially if there are lots of people ahead of you, but worth the wait. I ordered the Austin burger; depending on how hungry you are, it could feed one very hungry person or two people.
