History
Established in 1986.
A former auctioneer in New York City with experience at Sotheby’s, Doyle’s, The Cooper Hewitt Museum, Ms Kippax saw the need to help clients find unqiue items for their homes bypassing the expensive shops that normally offer these goods. Each client is offered personal shopping to locate what they would like from early American to Mid Century/Modern furniishings, paintings, etc and the pieces purchased at auction… the wholesale platform for fine and decorative arts. Clients are given the invoice and a commission is charged. Most shops charge multiples of the items value due to the expense of inventor and shop rents. SInce 1986 transparency and value have been the corner stones of the business.

Founded current business in 1986
In 1986 auctions were still the buying grounds for dealers and private clients had few options for finding fine art and antiques outside of expensive shops.
Lack of transparency in the antiques business and joy of finding beautiful pieces at reasonable prices inspired The Antiques Brokerage House. The addition of Interior design and staging homes for sale is fun and a great artistic outlet. I aim for a clean, classic look that transcends the moment.
