Visited for the first time over the Christmas holiday weekend, having discovered the place only a week or so earlier. Came at an unusual time so the place was empty, but that was not at all disturbing. Staff was gracious and attentive. Menu has some unusual offerings for a steakhouse(like pasta), but we skipped that. Spicy beef empanadas were tasty and not particularly spicy; wonder how they compare to the regular beef empanadas. Hangar steak was good, but real treat was short ribs, the real deal cut across the bones. Not like in French bistros, where the dish is drowned in red wine sauce so you don’t know what you are eating. First try came out undercooked from order of medium; was afraid to send it back because then it usually comes back overdone. But it did go back and the next time came out perfectly done. Fried potatoes appear to be house-cut, generous portion of that easily can be shared. Since the earlier review posted here, they have beer & wine license. Very generous pour on the glass of Malbec — appreciated that, compared to many places. Look forward to going back. A good alternate cuisine for Larchmont. Wish them success.

Crazy weird dining experience. That’s the only way to sum it up!!! I’m not one to review, but my wife, friends and I just can’t get over how bizarre this meal was!!! The family who owns and operates Buenos Aires were so nice, that you truly want to love your meal. We met them in the park a few weeks ago. That Friday we had wanted to give it a shot. The mark was missed from waiting to be seated all the way to finally getting a check 2 hours and 45 minutes after being seated. Not to mention this establishment wasn’t packed or near maximum occupancy. Maybe half the tables were taken. The look of the place and the plates being carried out of the kitchen by way of snail doesn’t look like Argentinian food but more or less a hybrid 1980s style Italian Restaurant with some steak options(not a steakhouse) Waiting to get our seat for a party of four was just weird and awkward. Standing at the front door like we were waiting for a bus not a table. The three women working just totally weren’t on the same page. We got different times in a ten minute period from two minutes to thirty minutes and we actually waited fifty minutes. Being from town my wife and our friends and I try to stay local to support businesses here. So we waited. We were finally seated and waited ten more minutes to get menus and order our drinks plus a bottle of wine. As for the wine it’s a very very small menu. Asking for a bottle from Argentina and it seemed nothing was on hand. We settled for a red and couldn’t tell you what it was. It was so dry and gross. The appetizers were ok nothing to right home about. One of the employees/server I believe is the chefs wife(that’s what one of the other servers who should be the manager) really needs to learn to be nicer. My wife asked for a water and was given the nastiest look. Which really rubbed me the wrong way. We’re here to try your establishment when we could go anywhere. On top of that it took a second attempt to get her a glass of soda. The male server who isn’t Argentinean from what he told us. I have to commend him for what he dealt with that night. He seemed to be correcting each tables problem while waiting his own tables. I saw guests getting up off there table and asking other diners if they could have salt and pepper. For the prices they are charging no one should have to ask another guest for anything. When appetizers were taken from us we waited seventy minutes, yes 70… Over one hour for our main course. I had a shell steak and wanted it cooked just before medium rare. The steak looked like it was cooked for the hour I was waiting for it. On top of that it took three conversations for them to finally agree to take it back and re-fire me a new steak. I felt so awkward almost ashamed having three convos for them to make a new one. I wasn’t the one grilling that steak to it was charbroiled leather!!! So another 25 minutes was wasted for me waiting for the new piece of meat I could’ve picked up at deciccos for 11 or 12 dollars. When the new steak came out everyone in my party was completed with their meal and was sitting all yawning getting tired from waiting constantly and for me to basically choke on my entrée. Dessert turned into an after thought. The kicker to this is nobody apologized. No one said hey sorry about the mixup let us get the table dessert on us. Nothing!!! I mean zero… Also a shell steak costing $ 45 dollars??? Are they confused with a NY Strip Steak? I mean a shell steak with an inch of lard fat on the edge was so unappealing. Just truly Very confusing. As well the shell steak was 15 dollars more than my wife’s filet mignon dinner. Which had a main filet maybe 5oz and then a small possibly 2oz piece of filet just thrown on the plate. Dinner for four costed over 340 dollars not including tip. I mean a true head shaker. The décor is another issue in itself. The walls are painted almost a weird pink that have these lights sticking out that you would buy at Home Depot for 9 dollars. The table next to us told me the owner is a contractor so we had a laugh that the place was put together with spare pieces and left overs from his job sites. One of the bathrooms had the strangest door on it you could ever see! Such a bad experience that I could keep going on but let me get back to our entrees my wifes friend had the meat sampler and it came on this weird looking dish that you would have seen back in the 80s in someone’s grandmas kitchen. With the white spots all over it. I mean just not the quality for the price they are charging. An experience that the four of us talked about this weekend. I won’t be going back here until I hear of a great experience from someone and it has to be down the line. I could’ve went around the corner to the diner and had a better meal. A better glass of wine and all within 60 minutes got almost 3 hours! If a zero could have been given it would have. Sorry Buenes Aires please correct these issues.

Food was excellent, nothing like it in the area. A few too many tables for the space, so felt a little cramped. Service was great too. Waiting on their liquor license, so it’s BYOB which is a huge plus. So grab a great bottle of wine, get ready to eat fantastic food, and get ready to become friends with the table next to you.
