Auray Gourmet

This is one of my favorite places in Larchmont! I’ve been going here for years, the service is always amazing, very friendly people and the food is fresh and tasty. They always have new products when I come in so their menu is updated often, but there’s still some of my favorites on there like the Casa De Mozerella panini. Definitely recommend coming here if you want a great lunch in Larchmont!

The food is usually good. Sometimes it’s a long wait. The fresh orange juice is definitely not fresh! and you never receive a receipt for the food you have ordered. On 2 occasions I found they have overcharged me simply because they where really way off. Without the receipt it is hard to check if the amount charged was correct. I find this really annoying. Also annoying: I came in with a friend in an empty restaurant and sat down at a round table with 4 chairs. We where told to take the only 2 seat table right in front of the door since we where only 2 people and lunch was expected to be very busy (this was 11 am) We refused as sitting right in front of the entrance is not a very nice place to sit especially since it was windy that day. By the time we left the place was still half empty. It’s not that the server asked but also the way we where pretty much ordered to move and that for no real reason. Doesn’t make you feel very welcome.

My husband and I moved to Larchmont a couple of months ago and wanted to know what the big hype was about. It has great reviews on Unilocal,and it’s always packed during the weekends. Food was fresh and tasty, however service was simply disappointing. It was our first time there and we had no idea if it was self serve, so we asked a worker who looked like a server if we were suppose to order at the counter even if we wanted to eat in, he said yes. We ordered our food and figured we sat down, food was taken to our table within 20 minutes. My cappuccino had no sweetener, I asked the server if I could get some Splenda, he brought me one packet, I asked if I could have one more, he was not too happy, he looked annoyed. Husband asked for ketchup and he brought it but not before saying «this is not an American deli you don’t eat ketchup or Splenda in France». His comment was unnecessary if you ask me, I wanted to tell him how my bacon eggs and cheese on a baguette instead of a bagel was not pure French but I chose to keep quiet. We had order Nutella crepes for desert, we finished eating, waited about 30 minutes, I told my husband lets go last thing I want is ask him for anything. Finally some guy from behind the counter came around and asked us if we were waiting for anything and I explained we were waiting for desert, he brought them out a couple of minutes later. Food was good, tasty and fresh, but not worth getting an attitude on a Sunday morning!

The food was delicious! But the server was horribly rude. People in front of us received their food before us and he continuously gave us dirty looks. This was absolutely horrible. He gave us the food without a smile, without saying enjoy, yet he said that to every other customer. I’m very disappointed in this service and they need to rethink about their hired servers and teach them common courtesy.

Went here to snag a sandwich today. Woman taking the order (I believe she is the owner, Carolynn) was really rude– and after we paid and she handed us our change, she started shaking the tip jar around and said «where’s the tip?» Extremely rude and unprofessional. Didn’t realize you deserved a tip for your condescending and demeaning attitude. Would rather give my money elsewhere.

Went here for breakfast with one of my friends and was amazing! We got crepes and they were so unique because they were so big! The interior of the restaurant is phenomenal and the staff is extremely friendly.

Delicious crepes for breakfast. Small seating area inside. They sell other French food produced– meat and cheese– that look good, I just only ever go for brunch.

Really like this place — although it can get pretty busy on a nice weekend morning. I don’t love how crowded it can get — and it can get especially chaotic given that it’s counter service and I have two small children underfoot. But the crepes are great! And all in all it has the nice, busy, urban feel that I sometimes miss from the city.

They have an amazing cheese selection and delicious charcuterie. The staff is super knowledgable — just tell them what you like! Add to that a terrific salad selection, a wide selection of omelets with fresh ingredients, and daily soups. This is a favorite for cheese shopping, breakfast, and lunch.

I got the Nutella and strawberry crêpe, and it was delicious. The woman at the counter was very friendly. The seating area was comfortable and cute.
Reasons I took off a star: 1.) I ordered a cup of hot water and was charged $ 2.50. For water. Ridiculous. But cold water was free. So I got cold water instead. 2.) While my friend and I were eating and chatting, workers kept coming over to us and asking if we were done and they could take our (half full) plates. I felt like they were trying to rush us out the door.

I have been coming to Auray since I was 6 years old, when it was a small cheese shop on Palmer Ave. I have seen it grown in my adolescence into a little European Café and it has always been wonderful under Carolynn and Ben’s ownership and in the original ownership of Warren and Dale. I love the waffles and Nutella Crêpe. I will be loyal to Auray until the day I die. I will be coming back a lot!!!

Good food. Pricing is a little pricey, but definitely definitely worth it. Friendly service and good for groups. Always my go to for a slice of quiche or a fresh crêpe.

First, the business owner was welcoming and friendly, and was happy to tell us about his non-​processed and organic ingrediants.
Great, clean eating spot that I wasn’t aware of but I’m so happy I found. I had the best omelet with onions. It included the delicious emmi cheese.
The omelet was delicious and the ingredients were so fresh, after leaving I felt refreshed, whereas I usually feel sluggish after eating a greasy breakfast most establishments serve.
I definitely will be coming back, truly fine cuisine.

The crepes are great. Sweet or savory. Personally I love the ‘complete’. The ham and cheese are both tasty
The service is true to the French atmosphere (short but not quite rude), but it’s counter service and they bring the food to your table. Not really here for service. Here for the good food.
They Also have a really amazing cheese selection of you are going to have a cheese plate at home. I get my bread elsewhere though.

The lady behind the counter that takes your order doesn’t seem happy. She’s a little rude. The line is long and you have to stand in the line just to get a refill for coffee. The omelette is huge but tastes whatever. Would I come back? Eh, if someone wanted to but I would never suggest this place though. I’d give it 2 stars but the iced coffee is amazing so that’s why I give it three.

Although not a Larchmont resident, I was a fan of the cheese shop, and did not realize it had metamorphosed into this deli/​café a few blocks away.
Stopped by for a late breakfast on the Friday of Labor Day weekend. I really enjoyed my crêpe with ham, gruyère, and if memory serves, spinach. Well made and a generous portion. A delicate tracing of a nice balsamic reduction decorated the top. I was a little less impressed with my wife’s omelet, which was the flat folded flattop variety, rather than the proper rolled French version. Still, she enjoyed it. The caffe latte was excellent. A pain aux raisins was on point.

The food is beyond excellent, this is a great place to get breakfast. The staff is knowledgable, the owners are fantastic. The lattes and coffee are always on point too. If you are looking for a unique meal
That is always incredibly good than this is the spot. The goat cheese omelette is terrific. This place definitely serves up some unique eats. Only down side is you can’t enjoy a mimosa or bloodymary with your meal… No liqueur license.

Great place to go for breakfast or brunch. I always get an omelette of some kind but I would also recommend their fresh homemade soups (selections change daily) or sharing a cheese plate. The owner Caroline and her cousin/​head chef Ben seem to always be there and they make sure you are treated right. We also held an evening birthday party there that was our daughter’s favorite – we chose a movie to show and the girls were all served crepes while the adults enjoyed wine and cheese.
Auray is a local small business with caring owners and fresh, delicious food. Would recommend it for anyone local who has not yet tried it or as a destination shop for anyone shopping for cheeses.

Decided to stop by to have lunch on one of my ‘me’ days at this spot, since i knew they served crepes and i’ve been craving them for quite some time. Ordered the chicken with cheese crepes to stay and an avocado salad to go. Both were very delish and fulfilling, yet i felt like Ive had better in the past. Also had a pomegranate iced tea which did not disappoint.
It’s great that they can make something that’s not on the menu and seem very knowledgable at what they do but the place was lacking of that certain je né sais quoi for me to thoroughly enjoy my crepes on my ‘me’ day and to give it 5 stars. Hence, I gave a minus star for the ambience. It does seem like a dairy/​deli store more than a Parisian café and it used to be a cheese shop, which is what it really feels like in here. I will most certainly go back but only if I’m in the area or have intense cravings for crepes.

I stopped by this European? Café/​glocery store because I’ve heard that they have pretzel croissant of City Bakery on weekends.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find that.
This place was not like French café, just looked like American deli.
