This is a review of having an event at the golf club, not actually golfing there. We had a party for about 40 people in the private lower level. The buffet-style food was all really good: pastry-wrapped asparagus, roasted and mashed potatoes, sausage, sauerkraut, smoked salmon, sausage-stuffed dates. Everything was hot and quickly replenished when it began to run low. There is a separate bar downstairs and a kitchen as well. Décor is pretty understated… not obnoxious and certainly not as dated as in some country clubs. Mainly there are big sepia-toned historical photographs of past inhabitants of the region. There’s a grand piano down there, which came in handy to guide our singing of «Happy Birthday». The staff did a great job keeping water glasses full, and the tables were set-up well. The chairs are red… it made our St. Patrick’s Day themed party look just a little Christmas-y but that was ok. If you don’t like red chairs, consider having them covered. There are plenty of electrical outlets and there are also little twinkle Christmas lights around the perimeter of the room. The floor is carpeted but there is a small wood dance floor off to one side. Closets are available for coats. I would recommend this venue based upon the food, service, and environment for events.
