As good as a food truck gets. Every meal served up from the trailer is an experience. You’ll spend your entire morning anticipating it, thoroughly enjoy it, and then spend the rest of the day blissfully remembering it. They don’t take the trailer out as much as they used to, so go when you can!

Tried their food for the first time at the Old Town Festival of the Sun in June 2011 and somehow my review never got posted. What a wonderful concept! It was local, organic, healthy, and absolutely delicious.

Hit this truck up if you are at the East Lansing farmer’s market! Same quality and great taste that I commented on last year. Ballin Ass taco and the Veggie taco are fantastic!

Its nice having something different pop up in Lansing. This place is good. real good. Small menu, but excellent ingredients. I went in last week and had some pork belly goat cheese sandwich of deliciousness. And the Tater tots. Get the TOTS!

The first time I came upon Trailer Park’d at the Allen Street Farmer’s Market, I looked at their handwritten menu and had to ask the guy at the window, «So just how ballin’ are your Ballin’ Ass Tacos?» Apparently, so ballin’ the person in line next to me chimed in to confirm that they were indeed awesome. I was skeptical, but I forked over my money and ordered a chorizo taco. And… well, I was convinced. It was beautifully presented, with a super fresh parsley and queso fresco garnish, and it burst with flavor from the first bite. I won’t lie, I mopped up the juices and licked my fingers. Not bad for a food truck taco. I’ve since also had a chili special — full of smoked brisket and pork shoulder, and similarly delicious. Be warned, the spiciness level was not for the faint of stomach — it’s subtle at first, but sneaks up on you. I loved it, but if you like a milder spice, stick with the taco or something else. They post their menu specials on their website/Facebook, and it seems their regular items are a chicken torta, aforementioned ballin’ ass tacos, and a couple of burgers. At $ 7+ for 2 tacos and $ 7 – 8 for sandwiches(tax is not included in their menu prices, by the way — lame!), it’s not the cheapest meal in Lansing, but it’s worth it for fresh, seasonal, local food!

All of their stuff is local. Their burger is amazing! It’s made with grass fed beef, fontina, caramelized onion, and arugula, on a focaccia bun. YUM! I also love their Ballin’ Ass Taco. Oh, and the Smoked Chicken Noodle Soup, it was made with homemade noodles.

Going to try this place again and update my review. I had the Chicken Torta… pretty lame. Was BBQ chicken, some queso cheese and like 5 black beans on a wheat roll? wtf? Was not anything close to a Mexican style torta, and pricy for $ 7. I’ll try the pork stuff next time, that looked great.

Went the other day and had the funky beet sandwich, which was super good – and I’m not a vegetarian! My husband had the pork loin sandwich and sage lemonade. He thought the sandwich was really good and that the lemonade was so-so considering the price. I think the food is some of the best I’ve had in Lansing.

What can I say? Finding places like this makes me love coming back to Lansing! Trailer Park’d is truly a local treasure which can be seen as a continuation of some of the rebirth the city has experienced in recent years. I’ll admit it, I’ve become a bit of an amateur food snob(errr… perhaps food enthusiast is a better title) over the past year or so. However, let me clarify, I am not an enthusiast who needs to eat fancy food from the«finest» [read: pricey] restaurants, rather I am a food lover and seeker who likes things that are unique, tasty, and expertly executed, thus I am an budding food aficionado who loves Trailer Park’d! We hit up the trailer on a warm afternoon in Old Town’s lot 56 [note, since they are mobile they are not always in the same place. Follow them on Twitter or check their website to find out where they are stationed.]. The location was great, both for it’s views of Grand River and for it’s location in Old Town among numerous art galleries and other gems that keep springing up in the area. The head chef, and owner, Jesse was on board and happily offered his suggestions for our impending meal. After a glowing recommendation, we went for the Pollo Torta(chicken, black beans, queso fresco, cilantro, and avocado). It came with a dipping sauce(or maybe it was a soup sample that we used as a dipping sauce? We don’t follow instructions well, haha) — we pretty much turned it into a French dip sandwich, whether or not that was the meal’s intended function. To drink, we went for the sage lemonade(it was sage, right? I don’t remember… it was herby, delicious, light, and refreshing). Everything we had could have stood on it’s own for its excellent quality. The chicken was fresh and locally sourced and the other items come from local bakers and farms. They are also big on recycling, so make sure to bring up your garbage and separate the food scraps from the plastic! We had a fantastic experience and I encourage those who live in and around Lansing to try Trailer Park’d. It’s not quick, as the website openly acknowledges«Slow Fast Food,» but it is also outstanding. The way the meal was served really set it a step above anything else I’ve had in the Lansing area and, I dare say, if this trailer hit the streets of NYC it’d be among the most sought after«street food» in the city! I can’t wait to come back and try the other items on the menu — hopefully sooner rather than later!

Finally made it out to Trailer Park’d for dinner tonight! The trailer was parked in Old Town tonight by the river. We were able to get our food and sit on a picnic table by the water. They have a smoker outside the trailer where they smoke various meats. Trailer Park’d has a diverse menu based on what is fresh and available. They post updates on fbook and twitter so you know what is cooking that day and where they will be located. We tried the burger, taco and smoked pork sandwich. Everything was excellent from the meat, to the bread, to the fresh greens. My smoked pork sandwich was really tender and had a light spicy, smoky flavor. My BAF(big ass friend) said the taco was his favorite– I caught him slurping the juice from the taco out of the container. We also had the home-made sage lemonade. It was really refreshing. They also had a trash can for recycling and one for food scraps(although we had zero scraps). I am looking forward to going back and trying the ribs! Check this place out!

Trailer Park’d is a food trailer run by a local guy(Jesse) using locally sourced foods to make street/comfort food. Everything is pretty much made to order and as fresh as possible. I won’t sermonize, but we all know the benefits of supporting local businesses and eating fresh food. I was lucky enough to attend the soft opening and sample most of the stuff on the menu. I like everything, but I highly recommend the tacos. The chorizo is just spicy enough, the mole verde provides a nice counterpoint, and the whole lime pieces are brilliant. Jesse has recently added a farm fresh, fried egg to this taco, which I have to try the next time I’m there… which will be this week. :) Try the lemonade with marjoram and sage, too.

This food is as good as it gets… I have finally tried everything they have on their menu and cannot wait to eat there again next week. I didn’t think lemonade could get any better, but Trailer Park’d found a way to do it!!! Very happy to see that Trailer Park’d supports all local farmers! Cannot beat the freshness!

Wonderful food from wonderful people! I got a «Q”– bbq pulled pork with slaw and pickles on a huge grilled slice of cheesy cornbread. Washed it down with sage-flecked lemonade. Will definitely go back and bring friends!
