After a mistake that caused some minor inconvenience the manager at this pep boys location really went above and beyond to remedy this situation. Not many employees, if any, have ever gone out of their way to show how much they care about their business and it’s reputation! Mistakes happen but how the business deals with those mistakes is really what counts!

Update to 2 stars: they do monitor the reviews and they gave me a call about this review. Politeness pays off, and I’ll consider giving them a chance next time something happens.
Initial review:
Avoid this place. Waited for hour an a half twice, just to get the estimate, which was wrong. They wanted to replace the whole control arm (300 $) instead of ball joint. Flat out 450 $ with labour out of my pocket. I go to my mechanic, fix the ball joint only, and than they go on a fairy tale story about the tires and another ball joint upcoming week.
Trying to sell me their shitty house brand tires. Without wanting to do the alignment on the car…
They work on commission and if they don’t make money on you, they move on to the next sucker. Sincerely avoid this place!

I went to get a winter check up which included among other things a wiper check. The next day a wiper flies off my wind shield. i called and asked why this would happen after I paid to have things checked. Spoke to «Chris» and he couldn’t have had a more apathetic attitude. «We just check to see if the rubber is ok. Don’t do anything else with it so, sorry.
Translation: not our problem.
Mayby a wiper check should include making sure its not gonna fly off your car?
After all the time waiting there, I don’t feel I got what I paid for and feel they are sneaky about what they advertise and what they actually do and don’t do.
I’m looking elsewhere in the future for my auto repairs.
if you want to wait all day for a simple repair and lousy service, this is your place.

Update: So I like to give places a fair shot and I returned to Pep Boys almost a year after my first visit and it was the same nightmare. I was only there for an oil change and I waited 1.5 hours. Not to mention that I had an appointment and there were walk-​ins who walked in and out before me. When I was finally called up to the counter, the young man asked if I wanted some additional services, which I declined. He then proceeded to walk away from the counter and help someone else. Ummm, ok. So, I sat back down. He called me back about 5 minutes later and I asked whether he was sure it was ready this time so I would not be stuck standing there like and imbecile again. He snapped that it was ready and I was taken aback because despite my disgust at the wait and the service, I was nothing but nice. I signed my receipt and left. There was no need to argue with him. I simply will never ever return again. Never.
