Business Owner

Carla Guggenheim was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Iowa and Kansas. She graduated from the State University of New York with a degree in dance. She danced and taught for several years before entering Osteopathic Medical School in Des Moines, Iowa. Following graduation in 1988, she completed a DO internship and an MD residency at Michigan State University. Her Fellowship in Rheumatology was completed at the University of Iowa in 1994.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has extensive experience caring for the rural population of Iowa, the urban population of Lansing and professionally related problems of musicians, dancers, actors and artists. She has taught residents and medical students for years and has been awarded «Teacher of the Year» by the MSU Medicine Residents.
