The clientele has changed and they do play Rap music the food is overpriced and no longer eatable. They advertise drink specials that the staff has no idea of what they are. Often the owners show up well after an event has started with the promised goods such as food or entertainment. The drinks are pricey and weak. Todd, Carla, and a blonde Jafae(sp) are the only staffers that can work the bar the rest are slow or unaware. This place has changed too much for me. The cook Mario left with another manager but it’s too far for me to travel. That cook was the best!

Heyyyyyy… We give Carletta’s a 5 star because it’s a great place especially to be limited with space inside and out, but still holds up standards of excellence which a lot of people get mixed up with perfection. There is no place that is perfect but they are perfect in their pursuit of serving you decent food, no nonsense, stimulated with a mature crowd. The pool table and outside bar area with cigar bar are Extra Bonuses that you will enjoy

I love this place especially with The Garden in the rear Opening up for cigars .The Wings are what get me here, I must have ate a hundred wings there so far lol and tried the special sauce the cook brought out for me .The crowd is older and well behaved and there are gentlemen always giving a Lady a seat. The live music is amazing One evening the band that was playing said they where just p[laying for some big names and they love to play the gig because of the quality of people at this establishment. I always run into someone I know, but didn’t know they hung out at Carlette’s. The are not too many places you can enjoy a good cigar in the night air anymore so will bring my Cubans there to burn in the Secret Garden

Nice grown crowd, good music and not for the youngsters! Could have a bit larger dance floor. Drinks come on time, everyone is very friendly, no thugs or thots, whatever that is lol. Come out join the fun.

I was invited to Carlettes by a friend of mine. I was a little hesitant because 1. I don’t go to bars and 2. It was very far from where I live. Well, to my surprise I’m happy that I decided to take the drive. The atmosphere was warm and very inviting. Not what I was expecting from a bar. Everyone was very friendly and I personally enjoyed the older crowd. There was a pool tournament going on so it was a pretty nice crowd. Considering the fact that I was not from the area and only knew my girlfriend that I met there, I felt like I grew up in the area and was being welcomed home. Everyone was very friendly, the food was great and the music was jumping. If you just want to hang out, listen to some good music and meet some great people visit Carlette’s Hideaway it’s definitely worth the trip.

I’ve been traveling to Yeadon for years and I never knew this place existed. Awesome space. They have indoor and outdoor seating, both of which are spotless. I like how the bartenders dress, looks very professional. The food was delicious too, I had fried chicken and tuna macaroni salad. It is a little expensive, but it is definitely worth it. Can’t wait to go back.

Well… I wanted to go to this bar because I had heard so many nice things about it. What I did like was you had to be 30 to get in, so the crowd was mature which I liked. However it’s small in there an all of the seats were taken. I heard the drinks an food was good an inexpensive. So I flagged the waitress who took my food order, she knew nothing about the drinks and directed me to the bar. I was disappointed with the prices,.I wanted to order crabs but they were a whooping 22.00 for snow and 32.00 for dunguness, way too much money. I settled for a fish platter which the portions were so small on the sides. I ordered a rum punch from the bar and the barmaid Jeffae wasn’t the friendliest. They advertise specials everyday an Thursday was lady’s night so when I asked what that meant I was told they usually give out something to the ladies but the person that handle it wasn’t there… so much for ladies night. My drink was 10.00 which I find expensive for a local bar. The concept is nice but may I have to give it a second chance cause I wasn’t impressed.

Before I begin the review, I just want to say this“Darn you Maggie! You scoop me” I have been here for 2 or 3 times in the past and I just decided to write a review. Carlette’ Hideaway is a real cool spot for the over 30 crowd. No rap, no fights, no stare downs, none of those things associated with a younger crowd. I call it the«grown & sexy crowd«Not the«You stepped on my sneakers crowd.» This spot is truly a hideaway, it is located between the Church lane Bridge and the Septa train tracks. They have a parking lot and there’s lots of street parking available. They have a huge bar that takes up most of the space in the building and the drinks are good and inexpensive, the food is awesome and the service is fast, they have a pool table and sometimes they have a live band that encourages patrons to come up and sing. Everyone is so friendly here and especially the owners. they had a fundraiser for the night I was there given by «The Black Cowboys Asssociation» Which was a fish fry. I felt out of place without a cowboy hat, And I saw a cute little cowgirl and I asked her where was her ranch? She politely told me that she did not have a ranch and I said to her«that’s too bad because I was looking forward to checking out her barn» She didn’t get it and sashade her way across the bar. Whenever I’m in this area, I have to stop in if not for a quick drink. If you come here I’m sure you will too.

Lots of places have the word«Hideaway» in their name, but very few live up to the claim. Carlette’s Hideaway is HIDDEN when I tell you. It can be found down in the cut by the Yeadon Train Station and, partly because of that, Carlette’s reminds me very much of my two all-time favorite bars: the old Delmar Lounge and Scotty’s(and I actually found pictures of friends from those bars on the wall here). It is an absolute destination bar, full of warm wood and friendly bartenders, delicious food and affordable drinks. And a lovely pool table(although some complain the felt is slow, I love it). Four of my favorite things about this bar: #1– they have«vintage» baseball cards — like Ron Grant and Marquis Grissom– laquered onto the ledge running around the back of the bar by the pool tables(see photos– I forgot to take any of the actual bar though I will one day, i promise– it’s hard because it’s always crowded :/) #2– No one under 30 allowed. I’ve seen them throw out girls who looked like video vixens because they were too young. #3– No rap music allowed. They literally shut off the juke box if you play something. It is a bar full of non-stop soul, r&b, motown and funk, all day every day. #4– Delicious chicken, delicious mussells, banging french fries. All affordable & served super-fast. The bar is a good 30-foot long, narrow oval, and there is not a lot of room to stand behind the barstools. The front of the bar has a card table(for cards, dominos, etc.) and the back of the bar has a clearing for a dj and a pool table. The bathrooms are large and clean. I don’t find myself out this way often(I prefer to drink places I can walk/bus home from), but Carlette’s Hideaway is definitely a spot I could get lost in for an afternoon, evening(or, let’s be honest here, all day)…
