It was okay. Very expensive for a chicken meal that as average at best. Fries were below average, all in all I’ve had much better.

I’ve been coming to KBQ since they had a different location in Bowie! The current location in Woodmore Towne Center is oddly located between a nail salon and UPS store. This space is much larger and has more seating. Big screen TV’s align the walls, and the restaurant is always neat and clean. There is even a hand wash station near the restroom. The food is always consistent and fresh. I have recently discovered the pulled smoked turkey sandwich, that’s really tasty. The ribs are good and tender as well. The sides can be hit or miss. I have not tried any of the desserts. KBQ is a must-try to get your BBQ fix.

Love Love LOVEKB’s! For some reason I kept overlooking this hidden gem but boy oh boy! When I finally decided to stop in– now I have this weekly addiction where I crave my KB fix! The food here is so good! And the atmosphere is welcoming. The staff are friendly and attentive and the consistency with my food has been on point!!! My hunnie orders the smoked wings and i opt for the tilapia… wings he love! He describes them as a type of «jerk» wings… and the fish is flavorful also… as for the sides I’m a fat girl so the potato salad, greens, mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes for me!!! And yesssss ALLOFTHEMATTHESAMEDAMNTIME!!! Today I’m trying the bread pudding with raisins but they also have sweet potato pie which is probably amazing based off the sweet potatoes I’ve had… apple crisp and peach cobbler!!! I plan to try them all ;) I will definitely be frequenting this place some more!!!

This is a BBQ carryout but has a nice clean, modern, dining area where you can relax and it not feel as a «traditional» carryout location. Whether you dine in or not, you place your order when you first arrive, if you dine in, you take a seat and they bring your food to you. They have two single patron bathrooms but to keep the traffic low when you just have to wash your hands, they have a nice vessel sink/soap by the dining area. I’ve dined here twice, the first time with my cousin, who ordered the half slab, mac/cheese with baked beans in which she loved! I’m trying to be a bit more health conscious which is why I tend to look for seafood dishes. Normally, I’ve been disappointed with ordering a seafood dish from say a «meat» focused restaurant but that was definitely NOT the case here. I ordered the grilled catfish sandwich with sauteed green beans. It was sooo good, the fish was seasoned and grilled perfectly. It came with a white almost like a hollandaise sauce on the side which I added and it blended well. The green beans were seasoned with garlic which was soo good. They also have a portabello mushroom sandwich option which is a great for vegetarians. After dining here the first time, I recommended this location for my daughters high school graduation lunch party. I wanted a location close to Showplace Arena but not a chain restaurant nor a restaurant that wouldn’t be flexible to my party needs. Most of the local go-to chain restaurants during graduation time, have dining time limits, long wait times, reservation limits etc. I made a reservation for 20 people and the staff blocked a section of the dining area where we could sit comfortably together. I was allowed to bring a cake, balloons and table favors. *HINT* Party City is right around the corner, Costco and Wegmans are in same plaza where you could get a nice cake as well. The staff was extremely accommodating where they had one cashier taking all our orders hence not stopping the flow of the other patrons as they walked in. It worked great for the flow we were looking for because I didn’t have to worry about splitting bills, etc. I left a tip for the manager to split amongst the staff because of the service although not a full service restaurant, they were very accommodating. As the orders were placed and food arrived, our party was pleasantly surprised with the plentiful portions and how overall well seasoned the food was. When it was time for the cake, I forgot my cake knife and the staff provided me with one. Afterwards we were able to take pictures on the manicured grass lawn out front, which served as a nice backdrop for graduation pictures. Overall, I would definitely recommend this location to anyone that is looking for a good bbq restaurant.

Ribs and smoked wings are delicious… the BBQ sauces really make it! Not crazy about the mac&cheese simply because it was swimming in grease. Other tasty sides include black bean and corn salsa, sweet potatoes and green beans! Service is slow because they cook to order but worth the wait! They close earlier than most restaurants on Sunday so beware!

I ate everything but the salad! The food was great! Mac & cheese was superb. Collards were spicy — very authentic! Beef was a little dry but still good. Roll was bad — stale. Get the yellow BBQ sauce! And the sweet tea is how it should be — SWEET! Love this brand new shopping center too! One of the outdoor«fake city» kind. This is near the pool where I swim so I will be stopping in a lot!!! Great friendly & helpful staff. Clean, comfortable dining area with lots of TVs. You order at the counter and then someone brings you the food. Better than having to wait for a server!

Food was good, but the staff was rude, and it took forever. The staff at the counter is the reason I won’t come back.

Yum! KBQ did not disappoint! The food is awesome and the atmosphere is welcoming. My family and I enjoyed lunch here today. The meats(fried chicken, brisket and smoked wings) were juicy and full of flavor! The sides OMG(yams, Mac and cheese, green beans and fries) were all delicious! Great customer service. We will be back!

This place is cool, but not something I would go out the way for. If I happen to be in the shopping center, I may swing past. The food is so so. I enjoyed my mac n cheese and mashed sweet potatoes. But my chicken was dry and went in the trash. Nothing to rave about. **IMPORTANT** before you walk out of this establishment with your order, CHECKYOURFOOD! I can’t stress this enough! On my last visit they forgot something and I didn’t realize until I was home. Maybe if the guy taking the orders were more attentive, this could have been avoided. He was rushing me through my order, trying to complete sentences for me and just doing a lot of talking vs listening. Also I told him I wanted light ice in my drink. His response was ‘ok? they don’t use a lot of ice’. Well I guess not because I never received my drink or the ice. On the visit before this, they gave me another persons order. Didn’t realize until I got halfway home. They seemed really happy that I brought the rack of ribs back and rushed them right back to the kitchen.

Someone at work told me about this place. I have been a few times and have had a good experience each time. I usually get the pork or the chicken with greens, sweet potatoes and mac & cheese. The sauce is really good, they need to bottle it up and sell it in stores. I posted about this place on my Facebook page and people that don’t even live here ask how did it taste-great of course.

Stopped in for lunch after meeting with a client. had the pulled pork sandwich with fresh cut fries. The meal was right on point, meat had a nice smokey flavor, and tender. Nice atmosphere — top notch. And they have good music. Great place for that local casual bite. I will go back

Had the Catfish Sandwich. Good sized catfish filet that was cooked well. Will definitely be back. The accompanying sauce went well with it. Will be back!

Let me preface by saying I’m a Texas native and have a high standard for BBQ. That being said… I got a brisket sammich, mac & baked beans. Brisket was very tender, could use a little seasoning in my opinion but a 8 overall when you drizzle some KBQ sauce on top. Baked beans had a really good BBQ flavor to them since i could tell they threw some meat bits in them, mac and cheese made with sharp cheddar(not my fave), but still tasted pretty. All and all I was really impressed and satisfied with my meal. The staff was kind, and I also enjoyed the dine in ambiance and music selection as well.

I asked the woman at the counter for a recommendation for a sandwich and side for lunch. She suggested the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese. The service was very good, the restaurant was clean but unfortunately my pulled pork sandwich was dry and didn’t have any smoke flavor that I was able to taste. Mac and cheese and coleslaw were fine.

I used to go to their old location years ago, and I remember liking it. Now I’ve eaten lunch here a few times, and it’s been disappointing so far. The brisket was dry and flavorless, even tough to cut. The coleslaw tasted really bland with a thin dressing. None of the meat I tried actually had smoke flavor, and the sriracha sauce was no where near spicy enough to be called sriracha. The new space is nice and big with TV’s, and the people who work there are really friendly, and service was quick, so I’m hoping they can just improve their BBQ and live up to the«Real Barbeque» name soon!

I came here after a football game at FedEx field. Nice modern and clean interior; staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. Between me and my niece we had brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, mac-n-cheese, cole slaw, potato salad and corn bread. We thought everything was good, but especially liked the baked beans. I liked that they had Franklin’s beer on tap as well. Good call. I noticed that some people seem to be grading this place against the best places in the country and therefore leaving low scores in their reviews, but I have chosen to grade it on a curve against my general experience and expectations for the DMV area after 20 years of mostly underwhelming barbecue in this metro area. I still would give it at least three stars without the curve. I enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and the service, and would definitely return.

I’m supposed to be eating healthy right now, but last night, I ate like I was at a down south family reunion — you know, mac and cheese, cornbread, baked beans, bbq. And i’ont have nooooooo remorse about doing so. Because the food I ate last nighttttttttttttttt… the food I ateeeeeeeeeeeee?! SMH. Too good! I gotta turn up in this review because it’s the only way I can do the succulence I indulged in 24 hours any justice. The baked beans deserve a standing ovation. Seriously… hmmmmmohhmygosh…they were literally in the top three best baked beans I’ve ever had in my long 24 years of living ;-) Mac and cheese was super yummy as well. The texture and flavor really stood out! I was honestly shocked how good they turned out Bc Mac and cheese isn’t something I expect to taste that phenomenal outside of my kitchen lol ;-) The Beef brisket was tender, falling off the plastic spoon lol… the bbq sauces were def needed for extra flavor on it though… I actually mixed them all together it produced the most amazing flavor… sweet, spicy, sexy goodness. Once again, this proves my theory… the BEST places on Unilocal are those with 3.5 stars!

Nothing but good food and good service. Came here for the 1st with my son for lunch. Quick glance at the menu and I was on the grilled catfish sandwich. Prepared perfectly. Sweet tea is, sweet tea. Lived it. #NotPaleo My son ordered the pulled turkey entre’ with a side of mac n cheese and green beans. The turkey is tender with plenty of flavor. The sides also homemade with decent flavor. Still like my mac and cheese better. But this is good and made with cheddar cheese. The green beans are loaded with garlic. Good flavor. The place is clean with plenty of seating. And the service is very quick and respectful. Couple of TVs for some while you eat entertainment. The only reason this place didn’t get 5 stars is I was not a fan of the BBQ sauce. I guess that would be the #Carolina in me. Needed something with some vinegar base. Keep up the great work. Welcome to the neighborhood.

3.25 stars. Came here, due to a recommendation from a friend. Raved about the wing ‘n things. Decided to try it on my way down home. Located in the shopping center in what they now refer to ‘Lanham’ of thee PG County. It is towards the back facing the roundabouts… fairly odd location in my opinion. There are parking lots and areas to parallel park. Once inside, nice sized restaurant, not too crowded. If you are ordering take-out that is to be had at the bar. Menu is fairly nice sized, full of options. On this date, I decided to try the brisket sandwich. It comes with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Additional accompaniments such as cheese/bacon are an additional charge. There were cookies hanging around, so I tried those too. The sandwich by itself was less than 8 bucks, with a side it was additional dollar. There is a selection of sauces that come with sandwich from original, to spicy. One sauce per sandwich, and an additional fee for more sauces. Upon first glance, I was pretty hyped to try the sandwich, the ingredients looked hella fresh, and there was plenty of brisket to go around. I wanted to taste the brisket first without the sauce to see if it was really necessary, and unfortunately it was. I think my idea of brisket is something that is tender and well seasoned. It was tender, but I felt that it was really under seasoned. I chose the sweet and spicy sauce, and it was a delicious addition. In my opinion, sauce is definitely needed. The cookies, meh. It’s a barbeque place, I ate one while waiting… meh. Carry on. In regards to service, the server that took my order was really sweet and helpful. Now there was another gent that came by and began to talk to me, in the midst of our conversation, he made a bit of a snarky comment. Not sure if he was being serious or joking. He went about his business before it could be addresses. I guess it was a joke, as the woman that was originally helping me laughed. Ugh… that was slightly odd, and a bit off putting. The food is okay, the prices are fair, the portions are large, the service is questionable. Not sure if I’ll return.

So I finally made it to KBQ Barbeque! I arrived around 2pm on a weekday and there were 2 other people seated. I was immediately greeted by smiling faces and directed to a table. I went to the cashier located in the front bar area to order my food. I decided to get smoked wings, brisket with string beans, mac and cheese and corn bread. They have 3 sauces for you to choose which suits your taste palette for your meats — Sassy and Spicy, Sriracha and there Carolina style sauce. I like spicy food but today I wasn’t really in the mood so I mixed the Sassy and Spicy with the Sriracha and it was good with a nice balance of a hint of sweetness with just the right amount of flavor and heat. I started with the smoked wings. They use a hickory and oak smoke that has a really, really good flavor! The combination blend of herbs and spices with the hickory and oak smoke made the wings melt in your mouth delicious! Dip in my mixture of sauce and BOOM! *mouthwatering* This is now one of my go to spots to get wings especially after finding out I can order and pick up. My beef brisket was so tender! Extremely moist and was seasoned very well. No complaints! Dipped in my little mixture of sauce and BOOYAH! Deliciousness! String Beans are cooked with little pieces of garlic and wasn’t overcooked. They had a little crisp but still soft in the right places if ya know what I mean! ;-) Yes, I will order this again! Macaroni and cheese… you know how sometimes you look at mac and cheese and think *damn that’s gonna be good!* Well, I had that thought but it didn’t really play out like that. Don’t get me wrong; it was good but it just wasn’t on that level of yummy goodness I anticipated especially after tasting the rest of the food on my plate. Would I order it again YES! but i’m hoping that they adjust the recipe by a wee bit… make it a little more cheesier and add a nice topping or something. Other than my opinion about adjusting the recipe I did enjoy the mac and cheese ;-) Cornbread was pretty good! All in all I enjoyed my experience and will be returning to try other dishes like the Banana Pudding, Pulled Pork, Ribs, Fish… yep I’ll definitely be returning very soon!
