Broderick Moving & Storage

I moved 3 times over the last 10 years but this one was by far the BEST organized and executed. Jim and his team (total of three) came in Friday morning to move from a 3 bed room town home into our new single home. They were extremly fast, extremly gentle to all our belongings and offered a free hand even for our hand carry on. If I will ever move again (I hope not any time soon) they will be the one I will give a call. Could not be happier. Thank you guys for making this move such a great experience.

Agree with everything CB stated. As we all know moving is a stressful process. Our entire move went extremely well. We had the move date change several times and they had no issue with it. They actually stored all of our items for free in the commercial space while we made renovations to our new home. There was no charges for them to store the items (30 days or less is free after that it is approx 150 per month which is very reasonable). 1 – 3 family members were involved at all times throughout our move. Hard working folks, reasonably priced with great attitudes. I highly recommend Broderick. In addition, my estimate was spot on.

I am offering a two star review on a portion of their business. They were hard workers and 4 out of the 5 workers were professional.
Originally the owner came out a month before our move and gave us a quote of $ 1600. I expressed that we were on a budget and did not want to have the coat to be any higher.
He looked me in he eye and said we over estimate our prices and ⁹⁄₁₀ we are below if not right on with our quotes. Stating we have been in business fro 30 years and we know what we are doing.
I decided to go with Broderick over the companies my wife had recommended thru referrals.
We are missing two boxes, one which has my sons decals for his bedroom (he is 20 months old) so I know that he did not put them any where. I have waited for a month to write my review so we could be completely be unpacked before stating anything is missing.
We had two items damaged, one is a wood chest that holds a tv and can be fixed so its really not a huge deal, the other is our artificial Christmas tree that was purchased for $ 600. The top of the tree was bent at a 90 degree angle. When we tried to bend it back it broke.
The guys worked extremely hard and rarely took a 5 minute breather. But the brother of the owner began to get visibly upset and even rude throughout the day. He stated multiple times that he had things to do that afternoon and this job is taking too long.
We I asked if he was ok he began to tel me he didn’t think it would take this long and needed to pick his children up.
Im sorry, but I have nothing to do with that and I did not appreciate the attitude and the visible anger that he had due to his situation.
I purchased a $ 100 deli sandwich tray as well as running to WaWa multiple times for coffees and anything I could get to keep the guys happy.
All his other workers including the owners son were a pleasure to have. We tipped each worker $ 50 each (there were 5 workers)
Now here is the major part for me. When the bill was handed to me it was $ 2300. That is $ 800 (50%) more than they had quoted. $ 800 THATS A HUGE DIFFERENCE.
With a 20 month old and a pregnant 8 month pregnant wife that was very stressful and an uncomfortable situation they put us in.
They came out to our house and gave a quote in writing. After an hour of back and forth with the owners brother who was the upset one from the beginning, told me he would lower the price but his workers were each going to lose an hours worth of work to justify the cost.
REALLY you are going to give me a quote then tall me your not going to pay your employees. I was originally going to give them a 3 star rating but as I write this review I will be giving a one star review.
There are just some things you don’t do.
We eventually paid them $ 1900.
$ 300 more than their quote (18.75% more).
If I had known that I would have not tipped each guy, bought a deli tray or coffees. I was just trying to treat them the way I would have wanted to be treated, unfortunate that was not the case with their thought process.
Its a shame because they were referred to us and as a Realtor I could have offered them more business as well. I was not looking for anything more than just what was quoted and right.

If you are looking for a moving company, and want it to go smoothly and dare I say enjoyably, I highly recommend Broderick Moving. Moving is so stressful and really no fun at all but from my first conversation with Linda on the phone it was truly awesome. Jim came over to give me a quote and was super nice, professional and gave me the confidence that they would take care if everything. And they did! I did my research because I have had some horror stories in the past… Not with Broderick. We had to move the move date because it was supposed to rain all day and I preferred — if possible– not to move in in climate weather. However the Mother Nature Murphy’s law gods decided for that day to be unseasonably warm and sunny and the move date… Rain, cold, sleet and snow!!! Ugh! It was horrible! But the movers… Steve, Kenny, Jesse and Matt arrived early and with a great «get it done» attitude– all day! It was messy and I had a lot of stuff. 3 more competent guys joined them — Stephen, Glenn and Jim to help because of the weather challenges. Again… Non-​stop incredible work and attitude! They were also very careful with my items (antiques) and to protected my hard wood floors and rugs from the elements. I can’t say enough about them and am so grateful for all they did. It was indeed a long day but made a group of nice friends! Thank you Broderick! Professional, hard working, talented and reasonably priced. Make Broderick your first and only call!

I would highly recommend this place to any friends who needed movers. The staff was friendly, easy to work with, fast, and professional. They were MUCH more affordable than some of the top listed movers on Unilocal,including Eversafe and Skybox Movers.
3 man team worked well in tandem together, and moved us much faster than I thought possible. I hope to see these guys climb the charts on Unilocal and other review spots. They deserve the business.
The only knock I’d put on them was that I could not reach them on the day of the move for the morning, and some of the afternoon. I left a few messages, and then just got lucky and got my call through to their scheduler. I was a little panicked that they did not get back to me after I left a few messages. If they work on that part, I would easily give them 6 stars out of 5. My wife and I could not be happier that they moved us from our apartment to our new home.
May they have continued success; they have restored my faith in East Coast moving companies!
