As someone who has shopped at larger save a lots.(Not from around here, moved 2010). I find their selection to be poor, the meat tastes funny, and the prices are a little high to be titled«save a lot» But if I need milk, and have to choose between them and rite-aid I’m probably going to the extra 10 yards to save a lot.

Love this store. If I have to walk for groceries rather than driving this is where I’ll go. It looks like a dump from the outside, but inside it’s clean and well-organized. As small stores go, the selection is fantastic because they keep to staple items in store brands, rather than emphasizing convenience food(although they do have some lovely examples of the latter. Zatarain’s dirty rice in a box!?). The produce is, as mentioned, very good. There’s not a lot of selection, but again, you can get the staples and they’ll be in good condition and not too expensive. Ditto on the meat. The frozen food section is the real surprise. It’s huge and diverse. You’ll get your frozen veggies and fish sticks, plus breakfast sandwiches, really nice looking ravioli, and party snacks. This is a real hidden gem.

No frills, surprising selection, good value. Parking lot rough, you really save a lot here and they waste no money to entice you. The shopping carts are old but work, the produce is excellent, not all yet ripe so you have some time with what you buy and some larger quantity foods here and honestly, you save a lot. You can purchase bags for your groceries or bring your own, and cartons are available after they ring you up. You bag it and take it to your car. Theresa is the smiley blond. Be nice to her she’s awesome.
