This is one of the many sandwiches/meats/cheese counters in the Central Market, which is apparently one of the nation’s oldest markets of its sort. While you’re dazzled by the huge array of cheeses and meats here, remember to visit the neighbouring counter for a made-to-order sandwich. They use the same stuff they sell, and while the dressing and toppings are rather standard, the quality of the meats and cheeses is so good, that you wouldn’t think of the sandwiches made any other way. I mean, sure, you can buy the meats and cheeses and make your own sandwiches too. But in case you’re super hungry, you might want to just grab a sandwich, go up to the balcony in the market, and sit at one of the few tables for a bite.

I was overwhelmed by the wonderful display of meats and cheeses. I’m a very indecisive person so I stood there for a while, I was asked several times if I needed help and finally I asked them to suggest something. I was given a piece of french fromage called D’Affinois. YUM. I couldn’t wait to get home and eat some. Everyday I’d eat a slice on a piece of toast until it was gone. It’s like brie and butter made a baby together. Went back and got some more the following week.
