I’ve been using Plum Salon massage/​pedicure/​facial service for a few months now. I have to say that their Massage therapist Wendy tops all the massages I had in Lancaster. She is really amazing! The atmosphere is so friendly and comfortable. I’m happy that I got to know Wendy for sure! If you have a chance and if you are in need of a professional massage please see Wendy! If I could, I would see her every other day:-) She’s that good! Highly recommend her and the Salon:-)

I wish I had read the reviews on their prenatal massages before I went. Had one with my first pregnancy at Ponessa Medical Massage and it was wonderful. Was quite disappointing at Plum– didn’t seem like the therapist really knew how to do a prenatal. Had a good regular massage there before, but if you’re looking for prenatal, go elsewhere!

I had the great pleasure of being on the receiving end of a 90 min massage with Shannon, followed by a 90 min facial with Rachel. The spa is comfy and quiet; the Aveda products were amazing and the massage and facial were sublime. With work stress at a max and planning a wedding two weeks out, I truly have never felt worse. I came in on two wheels with a blood pressure I am grateful I didn’t know. I left a mushy lump of a human relaxed to the point where I wondered if I should drive home. Shannon and Rachel are experts and all around fantastic human beings. Seeing as how much of a spa-​coma I am in, I cannot adequately thank them for how amazing I feel. Can’t wait to come back. Well worth the money.

One of the worst haircuts I have ever had. Stylist was obviously not trained to cut hair. She cut off two years worth of length even though I told her I wanted to keep the length and she assured me that she was only taking off a bit. Then she gives me this awful, plain hairstyle when I showed her pictures and explained how I wanted long tapered layers. No real layering, she just textured the top, and the bottom is one length all the way around. She could tell I didn’t like it and even said «it kinda looks like the picture.» Was still charged full price for the cut with no offer to fix it. Don’t believe the hype people, Plum is not a professional, trained salon.

So this place is one of the worst. My sister got married a few months ago and booked the salon for her and her bridesmaids hair and makeup. Honestly– my sister looked beautiful and I accredit that to the consultations she had prior to the big day. However, My makeup ended up looking like I was going to a drag show. I wish I was kidding. My hair looked like a horrible clam shell placed randomly on my head. I did not ask for that. I asked for a low loose bun on the nape of my neck. It was so heinous and I was so upset I left the salon and ran to my hotel and washed my hair and makeup off and did it myself.
Maybe my expectations are too high (I live in Los Angeles and am used to certain standards) but there seemed to be no rhyme or rhythm to any of the makeup and hair. The other girls looked like they were going to a middle school dance. I mean if you’re fine with super basic hair and seriously gaudy and heavy handed makeup, book this place.

I had an all-​around fantastic experience at Plum Salon and Spa for my wedding, for which we used a variety of services. First of all, they were so professional, responsive and organized. Secondly, I love the way the place is decorated and the ambience is great. And last but not least, all our services were excellent.
The day before the wedding I had a facial with Lauren and it was the best facial I’ve ever had! It’s amazing that she could make a bride feel that relaxed the day before the wedding, and my skin looked amazing for the rehearsal dinner that night. My mom and I did mani/​pedi that day and they were fun, good quality, looked great and lasted a long time.
Then the day of the wedding I had a group of my girlfriends doing a variety of services, and they gave us a private room to keep our stuff and I even changed into my dress there. The experience was so fun and there was another bridal party there but it never felt crowded or crazy. Everything was organized and on-​time. The staff were extremely easygoing and professional. Alana did an amazing job with my hair and makeup (I did a preview with her two weeks before, which was totally worth the money). She really listened to what I wanted and was a perfectionist. I got so many compliments, and my hair held in place for many hours throughout the whole event. My mom, the groom’s mom, and one of my girlfriends also got makeup done and they looked great.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Plum Salon and Spa for spa or salon services, and would recommend them particularly for bridal services.

I had my Bridal Services done at Plum this past weekend. There were 2 things that did not go perfectly but the way the salon handled this should be commended. From the receptionist, stylists, nail techs and Samantha who assisted me throughout there could not have been a nicer group of ladies to work with on such a special weekend. I would recommend their services for any occasion and if it happens to be for your wedding, know you are in good hands!

This is really the only quality salon in Lancaster, in my very humble opinion.
Senior stylists do perfect color jobs.

I had a great experience here!
My boyfriend and I bought the couples massage special for Valentine’s Day weekend. The massage package included:
1) A 60-​minute massage for 2 in a couples room
2) A glass of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries
The total price for this was $ 150 (not including tip).
We arrived 15 minutes prior to our slot time, which gave us plenty of time to fill out the simple form and slip into robes and slippers. The slippers were hard plastic, and that was not exactly my cup of tea. I would have liked soft slippers.
We were given water with lemon, and waited about 5 minutes after our forms were filled out to be taken into the couples massage room. The room was very relaxing and nicely decorated.
Both of our massages were great. They were customized to our needs and wants, and both of us felt totally rejuvenated after we were finished.
We were then led to a small sitting area, where we were served champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. There were also other snacks and drink choices available. Everything was delicious!
The best part? The unisex rain shower room, complete with all kinds of Aveda products. I must say this made the whole experience for us.
Can’t wait to come back for another spa day!

I went to Plum Salon for nails, hair, and make-​up for a wedding. (Nails on Friday, hair & make up on Saturday) We were provided with water and a bottle of champagne for mimosas. They have a separate room for the manis and pedis. The experience was nice but it’s only been 3 days and it’s beginning to chip off. A team of women did the hair and make up for the wedding party. Alana in particular did a fantastic job on the bride! Overall, the services were great, but I think they are a little over priced.

I visited Plum for my sister in law’s bachelorette party. Almost everyone who came with us opted for the plum perfect package, but since I was coming in that day from NJ, I couldn’t make it for the entire party so I decided to get just a manicure and pedicure. I am not at all happy with the services I received at Plum. Not only was their foot massage during the pedicure dismal (zero pressure at all), but the color selection was pathetic. There was hardly anything to choose from! When I didn’t see a color I wanted, I asked for a french mani/​pedi, but I was told by the woman doing my nails that she didn’t have the time. The worst part was that after paying a ridiculous amount of money for a crappy mani/​pedi in a color that I wasn’t thrilled about, my polish (including the polish on my toes) started to chip almost immediately! It was coming off in sheets!
I get manicures every week and pedicures every 2 – 4 weeks, so I know what a good mani/​pedi should be. The place I go to charges half the price as plum, has the same upscale ambiance (it is also a day spa), gives a hot stone massage during their 10+ minute foot massage during their pedicure, gives a back rub while your nails are drying from your manicure (I don’t even know if Plum has nail dryers since I was never shown one), and has about 10x as many colors to choose from. And my place would never be so rude as to tell me that they didn’t have time for a French mani/​pedi. If I’m willing to pay, they will make the time. What a disappointment.

About two weeks ago I called to get a quote on a hairstyle I was looking to get. I was told that I had to come in for a consultation to get a price. I thought it strange since I called around many other salons and was able to get quotes without having to come in. Once I got there I waited longer than the consultation took. She sat me down, asked if I had a picture of what I would like, said she could do it, and just gave me a price. A big waste of time. She even made sure to mention that this was just a consultation and would not be doing any work on my hair. I knew it was a consultation but had she said she could do it I would’ve just paid the overpriced haircut and called it a day. It was just a huge waste of time. The chances of me returning is slim to none. The girl really needs to learn how to make customers feel more comfortable.

Great little day spa. Staff is friendly and very well educated in all that they specialize in. My facial & massage was great, but I wasn’t happy with a «dry» manicure. Their spa products are wonderful but very pricey. I will definitely go back again for a massage!

I have gotten a couple of decent trims with Steph K here — because it is closer than my usual salon. Plum markets itself as a high end salon but is nothing of the sort. It is Zombie Town; if you are gretted at all it is begrudgingly. You may or may not be offered a drink. Show up half an hour late for your appointment.
DO NOT GET HAIR EXTENSIONS HERE. They are a big investment and this salon has no idea how to properly install them. I lost an extension a week after they «installed» Hot Heads extensions. I felt as if I lived there. They invited me to come with one of my loose extensions to have the «trainer» look at them. Verdict? I was not properly caring for them by using shampoo and conditioner they sold me, using hair spray, using a curling iron, and using pony tail holders. Mind you when Steph (not K) installed the extensions she wanted use a straightening iron on them. I THINK that is a heated styling tool. This place is Bush League.
I managed to get my hair from them. I took it to my usual salon, Luxe, had them re-​tabbed and lost just one in 3 months. I also learned at Luxe that you are absolutely permitted to wash your hair, use hair spray and a curling iron — even back comb!!!
Oh and Luxe IS a high end salon but the cost for installation is LESS. Luxe also greets everyone and always offers a drink.

I’ve been to Plum twice now: the first time was just for a quick manicure and this second time was for express mani/​pedi and prenatal massage. Do you know what the 2-​star rating means? This is Unilocal’s actual caption for 2 stars: «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Scheduling: When scheduling my massage and mani/​pedi, they were pretty accommodating and friendly and were able to fit me in for: mani/​pedi 12:00 — 1:30 then prenatal massage at 2pm– that’s fine, it’d give my nails 30 min to dry. When I got there they had switched my appointments so that I didn’t have to go into a massage with wet nails– okay cool, that’s nice! So I had my massage from 12 – 1, but then this meant that instead of a 30 minute wait i now had to wait an HOUR before my nail appointment which was scheduled for 2pm. and this also meant that I wasn’t going to get out of there until 3:30pm instead of 3pm, which isn’t that big of a deal, but it would’ve been nice if they checked with me first. To their credit they did let me lounge in the rear where they have some water + snacks set up and tables and chairs, but being pregnant, it really was uncomfortable for me to just sit upright in those chairs for an hour.
Prenatal Massage: This was my first prenatal massage ever so all I have to compare it to is a regular spa massage at other facilities. I understand, being pregnant, you can’t lay down on your belly like a normal massage, and it’s understandably more difficult for the massage therapist to treat you and work those trouble areas while you’re laying on your side. Still, I think it could’ve been better, and I walked out of that session bummed out that I spent money on it. I’m not one who can afford to get a massage often (once a year at the most), and with all of the baby expenses, this was a very intentional, calculated splurge on my part, so I was hoping for a better experience. For the massage: I could get a better massage from my husband at home. They did not have nearly enough pillows/​support for a prenatal massage as I would’ve expected. The pillows were flat, not firm, and did very little to support me. I could’ve brought in better pillows from home had I known they would be so poorly equipped. When I asked for additional neck support, I was given two hand towels, which helped, but was obviously not enough when I walked out of the room with a sore neck. Yeah, I walked out of the massage with what seemed like MORE tension than I started with. It really felt like she just did a general all-​over massage without really trying to work my trouble spots… so while it was generally soothing and pleasant, it didn’t get the job done for me… but maybe that’s what prenatal massages are all about? Are they not meant to help relieve tension from all of the extra weight your body is lugging around? Are they not meant to give you some comfort from the pain and knots and extra fluid you are amassing in your body and just designed to give you a general pat down? Are prenatal massages supposed to suck and feel lackluster and make you wish you had saved $ 80 + tip and had your husband rub your back instead? None of this is directed toward the masseuse personally– she was a very nice girl, but she didn’t give me the firm, therapeutic massage that I was hoping for.
Express Mani/​Pedi: an hour, 6 hershey kisses, 2 cups of water, and lots of web browsing later, it was time for my mani/​pedi. The nail technician was very pleasant, and I was happy to see that Plum had drastically improved their nail polish color selection since my last visit. It took me a while to decide on my colors, so I appreciate her not rolling her eyes at me during that process! She did a fine job with everything for the most part, but I could tell she lacked.something. Maybe this was also the case with the massage therapist. Sometimes you just go to someone for one of these services and you can tell that they just KNOW how to handle another person– whether it’s massage or mani or pedi. This girl seemed scared to touch me almost. The hand and foot massages were like someone was just running their fingers over my skin. There was zero pressure, so again more disappointing massages (I was 0 for 3 that day!). Then with actually cleaning your nails and all that stuff that nobody likes to talk about, she didn’t even go there. I don’t think I have the nastiest feet in the world, but I know they need some cleaning in the corners and was bummed out that she didn’t do that. One thing I’ve learned growing up in Southern CA is that you just can’t beat a $ 20 – 30 mani/​pedi combo at a Vietnamese-​run nail salon. They are just the best in every way and after this experience as well as some other spa experiences I’ve had, I don’t think I will ever spend extra money to have my nails done in a «spa» ever again. It just doesn’t make sense– spend more for less service? No thanks.
Overall, Plum was nice, but not great.

I decided to come to Plum Salon for my wedding hair and make-​up. I am happy I did! I am from Lancaster, but live in Allentown and was having my wedding in Lancaster so I wanted to find an upscale salon that would understand my vision of how I wanted my hair and overall style to be.
I called for a trial hair appointment and I was randomly given Steph… what a PERFECT match!
I had some ideas, but I mostly left it up to her and I fell in love with the trial hair, and when it came time to get married, Steph nailed it again but with more detail. I’m sure Steph could pull off any style, but if you’re looking for a unique, old hollywood/​pin-​up look with a modern twist, she’s your girl! She even helped properly place my birdcage and feather clip that I had ordered on etsy. The salon staff is very friendly and offers champagne/​mimosas in the bridal suite which certainly helped calmed my nerves! I’d tell anyone to come here for special occasions or for regular maintenance if you’re local!

I’ve had my nails done (mani and pedi), cut and color, waxing (bikini), and massages and I must say, they are definitely the best spa and salon in the Lancaster area! Elly has never given me a bad cut or color since I’ve started going about a year ago. I always love my hair when she is finished and she always gives me great advice about what would look good for me. Danielle gives amazing massages and waxing too. I love coming here and always leave feeling relaxed and pampered.

I have been here twice once for a spa day and once for a hair cut and color and I was very pleased both times. The staff is friendly and personalized my service. They don’t rush things even though one day I was there was a very busy Saturday.

Another great visit to Plum Salon & Spa. This time for a haircut and overall color. My 3^rd time getting colored, my second time w/​Stephanie K, who I would highly recommend. She is thorough and professional. Prepare to spend some time at the salon when you book such a service, but don’t you deserve some «me» time getting pampered?! And anything worth doing is worth doing well, right?!
The staff is always courteous, offering a beverage immediately upon arrival and in my experience, they’re not pushy about selling products, although it is tempting w/​the wide selection of quality products available for purchase.
My next venture at this salon will be a spa service. Stay tuned for my review!

I had an appointment for cut and color at Plum and while I was so incredibly pleased with the experience and with my stylist, I was not at all happy with how my hair looked. The color was much darker than what I requested and the cut was blunt and choppy (the very opposite of the natural, tousled look I had asked for and shown photos of). The next client had already arrived before I was finished, so there wasn’t any time to give feedback. I was rushed out with wet hair… Coming to Plum was a major investment for me. I was hoping for a great style I could maintain, but instead I left with a cut I dislike and color that I could have achieved at home. I ended up trimming my hair and coloring it myself within a week of that visit — which shouldn’t have been necessary for what Plum costs.
