M & J Movers

At least third time we have used them for a local move. Always punctual, courteous and professional. Took great care to protect floors and review move before and after. No loose ends. Highly recommend them. Found rates to be very reasonable for level of service received.

Although punctual and professional at first, by the time we reached my new home they said it was impossible to move the refrigerator into the 2^nd floor apartment. Well, guess what? My landlord and next door neighbor were able to do it with little trouble — all they did was take the front door off its hinges, no big deal. Their word for M&J Movers? LAZY! Bottom line, if all you have is boxes and very simple furnishings, they are probably fine. Just don’t offer any challenges because they are not up to it.

We used M&J to move our whole house and start to finish they were amazing.
We gave them a list of all the big stuff and they gave us a flat rate for that and then $ 1 for each box. They returned all calls right away.
Come moving day they were right on time and did a walk through with us to make sure the previous list was accurate and see everything that had to go.
They moved everything carefully with no damage anywhere and had the whole house out in an hour! Everyone was very nice and professional.
Overall they were very reasonably priced, extremely professional and speedy and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone.

They were nice at first, but after about ten minutes they became very rude because they were having troubles getting my bed apart. They also broke a flower pot and put my bed back together wrong. They did not put all of the bolts back in and it shook when I got on it. It took another hour of me working on the bed to fix it.

I’d give these guys 10 stars if I could.
Hiring movers is like pushing Jello up a wall. But on the recommendation of a couple of friends/​family, I decided to give these guys a shot. Could not be happier.
First off — they are professional movers. Each guys that showed up was clean, used deodorant and was courteous. It’s clear they don’t grab random dudes off the street to help them fulfill their moves.
Second — they are efficient and meticulous. Moving from a small home to a new build and these guys came out with 6 guys and 2 trucks. With a new build, we were like new parents wanting to be extra cautious about every little wall, banister, door frame, etc. NOT A DING OR SCRATCH in sight when they were done! These guys actually CARED about not damaging the property and protecting the valuables. And they did it all in 3 hours!
Finally — they were actually the least expensive and did not nickel and dime you to death. My bill actually went DOWN from the estimate! Wait, what?! You heard me… DOWN!
Now, I’m tired from all this gushing. Don’t hesitate… these guys are the best.

Called M & J Movers on a whim thinking it would be too expensive and/​or they would not be available at last minute notice. I had already spoken to three other movers who were too busy, too expensive or both.
Quite the contrary with M & J moving. Spoke with Jim and he was the nicest person to work with and said he could help no problem. He fit me into a busy day and the price couldn’t be better.
It saved me from moving a 224lb couch upstairs to a second floor apartment by myself. I called back to give Mike (his partner) the address of where to pick up the couch and the crew made it back to my apartment before I did.
The crew was professional, fast, was careful not to bang into the walls and knew exactly where to take apart the couch to fit it up the narrow stairway. Very nice guys all three of them and I couldn’t have asked for a better quote, crew, and overall experience.
I will go back to M & J every time I need something moved.

We used M&J movers to move from a second story garden apartment in Snyder /​Amherst to a lower about fifteen minutes away in North Buffalo.
My phone calls were always returned promptly.
I was given a flat rate quote for the furniture listed. This was not billed hourly, which made me feel better. I have these fears with hourly movers that they will walk slowly on purpose.
When I needed up update the list and add items to move, the quote was adjusted accordingly. In addition to the pre-​agreed upon list of furniture, they charged $ 1 per box (that one man could carry) to move. I found this so helpful as one cannot easily predict how many boxes and of what sizes you will use to move in an initial quote.
On moving day, the movers arrived at 9AM. All of our furniture was completely wrapped in moving blankets. The gentlemen were kind, polite, and careful. They took the time to read the markings on the boxes and deliver them to the appropriate rooms as well as set up our beds and arrange the large furniture for me. They took care to put down moving blankets to take care of our floors, noted fragile boxes, and everything arrived perfectly. They left at 11:30, with everything moved and set up.
Having moved ourselves before, even if one finishes early, we are usually too tired to unpack and set up beds by the time we unload.
This was 100% worth it as we were on a strict time-​schedule and needed a quick turn-​around to return to work and life. We were completely settled much more quickly due to the efficiency and work of M&J Movers.
We moved two bedrooms, a kitchen, living room, and dining room. This included lamps, storage baskets and trunks, rocking chairs, desks, upright dressers, bookshelves, etc. The flat fee for these was $ 400 and was the most competitive quote, even with the estimations from per-​hour movers, that we received.
