Jeff & Sons Appliance Repair

I had a Lg washer that stopped spin cycle. It also leaked once in awhile. Our appointment was at 8:00am and Jeff called at 7:45am to let us know that he would be on time. He solved the leaking problem and found that the spin cycle was not working because the leak shorted out the wires. He fixed the wires replace the water valves at a reasonable price. He’s very friendly and proffesionable. I would definitely recommend Jeff to family or friends… Frank B of Quartz hill

I called Jeff & Sons at 8:30am regarding my refrigerator that stopped cooling properly. I provided him with the symptoms over the phone (freezer was working however fridge was barely cold & no audible fan noise) He told me what the problem was – faulty evaporated fan cooler– and quoted me over the phone. He told me would be able to get to my apt within an hour. He made it on time and fixed the problem within 40 minutes. The diagnosis was correct and the quote was exactly what we agreed to. You cant really complain when you have something as time sensitive as a busted fridge and they fix it within a couple hours of you calling. I would surely use this company again. Oh and by the way, I would NOT recommend Sears appliance repair. They were trying to give me three options and I realized that I was trying to pick the lesser of three evils, Oh and the earliest appointment was in THREE days! get outta here.

Left messages over a three week period and never got a response. All I needed was to convert a gas dryer to LPG. Oh well their loss.

Would not ever use these guys again. They took several months to get parts and then got the wrong part. They blamed the manufacturer, but in the end I discovered it was they’re incompetence. Then during one of the multiple trips to work on the machine they created a rip in the rubber seal and blamed me. From the first time that the touched the machine it was just one problem after another, but they always blamed me and charged me for extra service calls.
I then had them change the pump in the washer, still not sure that was the problem, but the pump they said was the right pump had to be altered, with my help, with a dremel tool to fit properly. During the whole repair they kept asking «do you think I should do this or that» What the heck was I paying this idiot for. Two month later the same problem with the pump. Because it was supposedly under warranty I called them back, set up an appointment, they never showed and did not bother to call. When my wife called him the owner was very rude and dismissive to my wife and told her he would charge $ 95 for another service call. He said the new problem was probably her using too much detergent, RIGHT, our fault again. The $ 1500 Samsung is now headed to the dump.

I have left 3 messages this week alone and not a single return phone call. I guess he must be so busy and with so much work he does not need a new customer. Even with all your good reviews I can’t in all honesty recommend this man.

Awesome experience with them. They went out of there way to help me anyway they could, trust me I can be a tough critic! They were prompt, helpful and showed me the part that was unserviceable. They did not try to sell me extras like everyone else, this is why I prefer local business owners instead of the big companies like best buy, Sears etc.

I could not say enough great things about Jeff and Sons Appliance Repairs. I called them around 10:30 am and left a message letting them know that our dryer needed serviced. Jeff called back within 10 minutes to let me know that his brother David would give me a call and set up a time to come take a look at it. We set up a time and David arrived within the timeframe he gave me. Not only did he fix our dryer, but he went out of his way to give us tips on maintaining both our washer and dryer. David was very friendly and very efficient. I highly recommend them! Thank you again!

My LG refrigerator was no longer cooling so I called B & D Appliance Repair Service first and left a message (never heard back), then called Jeff and also left a message. Jeff called me back within 5 minutes. I told him what kind of refrigerator I have, how old it is, and what the problem was. He gave me a couple possibilities of what might need to be done along with prices. He told me he’d be able to come out the next morning between 8:30 am — 11 am and we set up an appointment.
He called me at 8:30 am the morning of the appointment to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, he took a look at my fridge, tested the compressor itself (which was fine) and tested the relay capacitor for the computer (which was the culprit), and was able to tell me what the problem was and how he came to that diagnosis. He had the part in his truck and was able to do the repair on the spot. Jeff informed me that the refrigerator should reach the programmed temperature in about 2 – 4 hours, which it did. All in all, the diagnosis and repair took a total of 30 minutes.
The water line that goes from the valve on the refrigerator unit to the water connection in the wall was also leaking on both ends due to worn seals. Unfortunately Jeff didn’t have that particular water line in his truck but he did tell me where I could get one, which one to get, and how to install it (advising not to over-​tighten). Thanks to Jeff’s advice, I was able to replace the water line myself the next day.
Jeff was friendly, efficient, professional, and knew what he was doing. The repair he performed is backed by a 5-​year warranty for the part, 30-​day warranty on the labor. If I have another appliance in need of repair, I am definitely calling Jeff again.

They were prompt, courteous, polite, professional. They backed their work with a 5 year warranty and was more than fair in the price. Rare to find this kind of service anymore. Obviously very satisfied and would use them again.

We called a year ago to have them fix our hinge on our oven door. They fixed it and said we should not have anymore problems. Well the hinge came undone about again about a month ago. I called them and the guy said he remembered it and that there was nothing more he could do and to get a new oven. He never even came and looked at it. It’s an $ 1100 oven and because the hinge broke just toss it out??? So my husband and father in law were able to fix it for $ 30 worth of hardware. And in the process discovered the crap job that Jeff and Sons had done. And Put Better Hardware IN To Ensure It Would NOT Happen Again. Jeff and Sons never even looked as t it before they told me to just get a new one. BS

I called this company on a Saturday after a holiday. They returned my call right away and asked me a number of questions over the phone regarding my problem. Jeff made a couple of suggestions as to what might be wrong with my refrigerator and asked me to do a simple test to establish what problem of the two it was. I really appreciate him taking the time to do this and even though I’m not an appliance repair person, I bet he’s right. I have an appointment scheduled for Monday because this isn’t a cooling 911. The rates he quoted me for parts & repair were reasonable.
My experience so far has been good and I decided to call Jeff & Sons based on the other positive reviews here. If you don’t see an update, everything went great!

My husband phone this company up and the guy quoted a price without even asking the make/​model or finding out what the issue was completely. Then was rude and said he was busy and to call back later… NEXT

They got two stars simply because they are friendly. I called them when my washer was not draining water they came out the same day Jeff took only 10 minutes to replace the part and he showed me what was wrong. That part was all fine. but he charges me 150.00… I googled the part on several sites and found the part was only 8 dollars… I understand having a need to charge a minimum hourly rate but was the hourly rate 142.00? I felt ripped off. Even when I called for a quote on an A/​C wire from him, he quoted me 60+ more then his competitors. Very disappointing

For the love of Unilocal… I sincerely hope my review doesn’t get filtered again because it’s important to know there’s a reputable appliance repair service in the AV. My original review was as follows:
«Long story as short as I can make it, I met Jeff after searching far and wide for another appliance repair service after having a few disappointing experiences with a company I’d trusted for 10+ years. I called him to come out to take a look at my dryer, which had started making enough noise to wake the dead. He came out, took apart the dryer, found the issue and replaced it. The repair was fast, affordable and made Jeff my „go to guy“ for appliance repair. I’ve since called him for the washer at my office and although that washer was a total lemon from the get go and the repair wasn’t practical, he recommended a superb replacement that finally meets our needs. I read the previous comments and had to put my experiences out there since Jeff is NOT that guy who just comes in, charges a bunch and doesn’t provide good service. He’s professional, courteous, knowledgeable and honest. His services are affordable (c’mon people, things aren’t free, duh!) and if he doesn’t think the repair is a good investment vs. replacement, he tells you up front. What more could anyone ask for? Thank you Jeff!!»
Since then, I had to call Jeff to schedule an appointment at my office for our dryer (it decided it would attempt to dry the laundry using no heat) and his brother, Dave, was the service technician. He and Jeff are quite the dynamic duo! Our dryer was fixed in no time and once again, I’m a satisfied repeat customer. Thanks guys! Your work ethic is greatly appreciated!

Appliance repair has always been a pain in the backside for me. I don’t live in town — I’m way out in the boonies. I’ve always had to take time off from work. And they never show up when they say they’re going to show up – always 3 or 4 hours late.
I called Jeff and Sons on Friday. I left a message and he called me back within 15 minutes. He was able to come on Saturday morning to fix my noisy dryer. That alone is amazing to me, after years of dealing with Sears and their «We come out to your area on every other Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., maybe.»
Jeff said they could be there at 8:30 AM – he called at 8 and asked if it was okay for them to show up early. EARLY! OMG! That never happens.
His estimate was spot on.
He had the part on his truck. It didn’t take over an hour for him and his helper to dismantle the STACKED dryer, put the part in, level the washing machine/​dryer stack (Sears should’ve done that when they delivered it), and check everything. The cost was reasonable.
He imparted some free knowledge on propane stovetops that makes me think when the time comes I’m moving to induction.
If you’re having issues, call them. They’re great!

I knew something was wrong with my fridge but when he came out to see it he told me if it kept the temperature at what was set nothing was wrong with it. A few days later the problem persisted and we called him again. He told us that he had checked with the manufacturer and that nothing was wrong with our fridge. A few weeks passed and now it isn’t holding the temperature anymore. The repair will now cost over $ 300. I can’t help but wonder if initially this could have been corrected easily and cheaply had he just known what he was talking about from the beginning. Don’t call this guy if you have a GE appliance!

I found Jeff and sons online and was intrigued by his website and how friendly his add appeared. In the past I have had companies who would take advantage of me due to my gender.
His father Leonard and Jeff fixed the timer on my washer and didn’t have to replace any parts and I was excited that I wasn’t charged extra. There work was fantastic and the both of them were kind and sweet. The total fee was reasonable and the call I made to Jeff and Sons was worth it. I will definitely be calling them for future repairs

Ok, I moved to Lancaster and my refrigerator seemed as if it wasn’t cooling enough at 3… It’s a Sunday… I thought no refrigerator repair place will be open if I call but at least I’ll leave a message and I’m sure someone will call me back on Monday. I’m not working right now, so having a repair person come out to my home plus repairs is an expense I am not prepared for. I left my name and number on Jeff’s phone and thought someone will call me back tomorrow.
To my surprise my phone rang about 2 minutes later. It was Jeff !!! He started to ask me some questions about the fridge. We talked for about 7 or 8 minutes as he had me check certain things for temperature and explained to me what things do in the fridge.
Unfortunately there are people out there that would take advantage of people (even more so women) who are unfamiliar with something that needs to be fixed. And charge them an arm and a leg for things they really don’t need.
Jeff’s A-​1 Appliance Repair is a stand up, honest business. Jeff did not push a visit nor did he push any repairs. He made some suggestions to me and I will try those suggestions as soon as my fridge empties a little bit more.
Jeff didn’t have to do that, he could have just said «In order to make an assessment I must first inspect the refrigerator»…and charged me for at least a visit.
After my fridge empties a little, I will try what Jeff told me to try and I will go from there. That will probably let me know what I need to be replaced and how much that will be… and I definitely will bring it back to Jeff’s A-​1 Appliance Repair.
