Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home is a full service, independent, family owned and operated funeral home and crematory located in Lancaster Pennsylvania. We have been serving families since 1940 and are proud to be in our 4th generation of family ownership.
We have the most hands-on experience in cremations than any other funeral home in Lancaster County since we have owned and operated our own on-site crematory since 1992.
It is our goal and commitment to the families we serve to provide a meaningful service; one that is appropriate for each individual no matter what choices are made, and one that is affordable. Each family will receive the utmost personal service and unmatched attention to detail.

History
Established in 1905.
1865 141 E. Orange St. was first constructed by Reuben Baer and served as his and his family’s personal residence.
1917 The Baer family mansion was sold to J. Fred Fisher. He turned into a funeral home and named it J. Fred Fisher & Sons Funeral Home. His first funeral was an inmate who was hanged at the Lancaster County Prison.
1940 One of Mr. Fisher’s employees, C. Abram Snyder purchased the funeral home and moved his family into the apartment above the business.
1945 To accommodate his growing business, C. Abram Snyder purchased the Killian property at 135 E. Orange St. which is located next door to the funeral home. Mr. Snyder used the back yard of this newly acquired property to provide additional parking for the funeral home.
1954 In 1954 the operating room was moved from the second floor of the carriage house to the main building of the funeral home.
1955 A major renovation to the funeral home was completed as a selection room was added and improvements were made to the ope

Jeremy D.
Manager
Jeremy was born in Lancaster Pennsylvania. Jeremy attended Millersville University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He continued his education by graduating from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s Degree in Business. Jeremy spent the first four years of his professional career in the «corporate world» with Volvo Construction Equipment. He held various positions most recent Regional Manager responsible for managing the Southeastern part of the country’s sales force. Midway through 2009 Jeremy decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps and attend mortuary school where he graduated in 2010. Jeremy, his wife Candace Reynolds DeBord and their sons Ethan and Austin currently resides over the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home (a branch location of the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home) located at 2024 Marietta Avenue.
