Where to start… my regular auto repair shop recommended D & L to do a tint job on my car windows. So I called D & L and made an appointment. I was told it would be $ 150 and it would take two hours.
I arrived at my scheduled appointment time and proceeded to wait for not two, not three, but 4 HOURS to have this job completed. Instead of being straight with me, when I asked at the 2.5 hour mark, I was told «just half hour more» (seems to be this guy’s standard answer to everyone, as I heard him say it to another customer who was left waiting until after my job was done…). So I sat on these uncomfortable freaking stools for 4 hours, went to the bathroom in an unbelievably filthy bathroom, and tried to not lose my mind while this guy answered his phone that rang literally every five minutes and talked to every joe schmo in town.
When the job was complete, I asked the owner very nicely if I could have a discount, since it took double the time that I was quoted. He offered $ 10 (off a bill of $ 180 — which was $ 30 more than what I was quoted on the phone). When I said, really just $ 10, that’s the best you can do? He said, what do you want it for free? (With all the requisite sass that he could muster in his condescending little attitude). He then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault it took so long because my car was «difficult.» Really — a Honda Accord is a difficult car? Only 1 in 5 people drives it, and I would have to imagine Hondas are pretty common within this business’ target demographic. But kudos for blaming the customer! There are bubbles in the film and some of the pieces were not cut correctly. Real classy looking job… not.
Oh, and he made my car battery die. Keeping the car doors open and engine on so he could roll the windows up and down three hundred times for 4 hours has a tendency to do that.
I would never recommend this business to anyone, even my worst enemy. I’m sorry that I do not have any alternate recommendations for you, but I would chance it to say that even a dealer, who would probably be more expensive, would be a much better alternative than this place.
