Carroll’s Satellite

Terrible. Dealing with this company was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve dealt with in a long time.
We were given a fake quote. When talking to the sales woman, I asked repeatedly «Are you sure the price is this low? Are there any extra fees?». I mean, over and over again. She assured me that no, the price she said was correct. Luckily I had her write her name and phone number with this fake quote.
Then we got the Dish bill. It was three times what the saleswoman wrote. My husband called Dish to cancel, and they were so shocked at the quote we were given that they cancelled immediately and excused the $ 420 cancellation fee.
Then I called Carroll’s to pick up their equipment. No answer. I left a message. A few hours later I called again. No answer. I left a message. It took two days for them to return my call.
THEN my husband gets a call at NINE PM from a man who wouldn’t identify himself, saying he had our card on file and was going to charge $ 300 to the account. Then he HUNG UP on my husband. My husband called back and spoke to a different man who changed the number to «only» $ 125. The next day I called the number back, asking for them to explain the situation. The man who answered was extremely aggressive as soon as I identified myself, and refused to answer where he was getting the number from. I had the contract in front of me and kept asking him to tell me where in the contract he was getting the numbers from — if it was in there then I understood. But it wasn’t. So I told him we were going to call the card company and not let the payment go through. Then it got funny — he started pouting. He actually said the words «Fine, if that’s how you’re gonna be, then that’s how you’re gonna be.»
YES. If you give us FALSE information (which we can prove!) and then call at inappropriate times at night and threaten to charge hundreds of dollars without our permission, then sorry, but I don’t really care about your company. It’s a business, not a pity party.

Rick is fabulous. We were referred to him quite a few years ago when we decided we wanted to go with satellite service. He provided advice, did the installation, and was super helpful. Later we had him install satellite service at another place and, when that second setup had to be moved to another location quite distant, we called on Rick to ask if he would handle it again for us and were more than happy to pay him to travel out of his normal AV area and handle it for us. We didn’t want anybody else, we wanted Rick, and we were comfortable with him in our home. He KNOWS his stuff and what he’s doing, and is incredibly competent. We’ve referred friends to him who were also very happy. Not a moment’s doubt about suggesting you use his services. Trustworthy. A definite professional who on multiple occasions has gone beyond the call of duty in his service level.
