Established in 2000.

My father, Ed Fawcett, Senior, is ASE Certified machinist and auto Master Technician and has 45 years of experience. I, Ed Fawcett, Junior, am ASE Certified Master Technician and I have 23 years experience as an auto mechanic specializing in car tune ups. Amy Fawcett, my wife, runs the office, calculates the estimates, and assists customers. My son, Ed Fawcett, III, helps us around the auto repair shop on the weekends.

I grew up in my father’s auto repair shop on the east coast and he taught me how to diagnose and repair vehicles. Right away, I was hooked. I wanted my own auto repair shop. Since neither one of us wanted to stay in Massachusetts, my father sold the business and we moved to California. We began working for various auto dealers to gain brand specific knowledge.

In 2000 all the pieces came together and my dream was realized when we opened AV Bumper to Bumper Auto Repair Shop and tune up service.

I drove by here today and realized that I’d never written a review so here it is. I’ve been there a few times and have since moved on to another repair shop. I think they are good with timeliness and courtesy however I didn’t like that they just seemed too excited about my car problems. There is no sensitivity to the fact that people having car problems may be a daily occurrence to them, but for the people going through the problems having to pay for costly repairs it could be devastating. They even have a sign that says they will charge you more for asking questions and whatnot. It just got to a point where I felt like I needed to be somewhere where the technicians didn’t feel a sense of accomplishment discovering problems and generating bills.

A very helpful and experienced garage. They are truly the type of shop the everyone wishes they could find and your grand parents reminisce about. While searching many of the local shops during a weekend project to replace the brakes on my 1968 VW bug I couldn’t find a shop that had the equipment to turn the unique brake drums.
As I walked through the door Sr. looked at the parts in my hand and recognized what I needed before I could say a word. He was incredibly helpful and turned all of the drums for me very quickly and they work exactly as they should.
To top it off their prices were 20% below everyone else who advertised brake service.
Their shop won’t win any awards for the prettiest polished concrete flood or cushy waiting area but, to a car guy as soon as you lay eyes on it you know. You have found a place were car guys understand car guys.
I will recommend to friends and family as well as anyone I find.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place !!! I have yet to have any sort of problem with them and now I take my car there for even the most routine items. Their place may not be fancy but I don’t want to pay for fancy I want an honest, dependable, knowledgeable mechanic and that is EXCATLY what they are… HIGH FIVE !!!

So my son was moving from Riverside to Redding when his pick up truck broke down in Lancaster. I went on line and checked the reviews for local auto shops, hoping that we could find someone trustworthy. I first found the «honest auto shop». They were very helpful but also overbooked and referred us to Av Bumper to Bumper. I called and spoke with JR. He was very helpful. They had him up and going in a few hours.

When the air conditioner went out in our Lincoln, we did some online self-​diagnosing and estimated it to cost around $ 2k. We took it to Bumper to Bumper and had them take a look. We were pleased to get a quote of about $ 900 so we told them to go ahead and fix it. We got a call later that night that the computer did some weird bypass thing and they wanted to look into it a little more. Turns out their suspicions were right and it was something else. I was scared to hear the new quote but it was actually less than half the original quote. The total bill was $ 409 and the a/​c works great! They could have easily put the cheaper part in and charged us the original quote and we would never have known the difference. It’s refreshing to deal with an HONEST car shop for once!
