Advanced Smile Dentistry

i’ve been a patient here for just over a year. I came in for my annual cleaning. I’ve been seen by a lot dentists, but this place is probably the most professional I’ve been to yet. That’s why I’m about to give a very glowing review. Claudia cleaned my teeth and Ricky took x-​rays. I thought they did a good job all around. Also I had to talk to the office manager, Chelsea, who did a superb job of explaining to me the cost of some cosmetic treatment that I was thinking of getting. I hope the dentist of this place realizes what a great talent is on staff here. Dont let them go! Probably the best thing about this place is they have evening appointments. The only thing I wish is that they would have cable TV in the lounge but that’s not a big deal.

So let me qualify this review with stating, my wife and I were excited to find this dentistry opportunity. We were examined by the most wonderful experience dentist and then «POOF» she was gone due to personal issues. Now we’ve gone back and I’ve had a dry socket (following all the instructions) a very bad 2 extractions and now they want to do more, with what dentist, I HAVE NO IDEA. They advertise sleep dentistry which is not true. They ran out of O2 so they had the limit my supply of NOW leaving me I. The same anxious painful position most other dentists have left me in. We will be looking to move forward with a «stable» density that can comfort and meet our expectations. Maybe one of his other offices are are doing yoemans effort for their clients. I think Blvd Dental is In our future.

Let me start by saying, I do not like the dentist. Who does? But since it’s necessary, one must be selected. I cannot recommend Advanced Smile Dentistry enough. They have been taking good care of me and my family this year. First of all, they are a small, pleasant office in a convenient location (near AV Florist on Ave. J). Everyone on the staff from the front office to the back office to the dentist are kind, knowledgeable, and offer great customer and professional service. I just went there last week for a cleaning, and discovered I had 2 cavities. Eek! Immediate panic, right? But they were able to do the fillings right then, and when I mentioned I have a hard time keeping my mouth open wide, were able to provide me with a mouth prop. I’ve never been offered something like this with other dentists, but it was the exact thing to keep my facial muscles from experiencing pain and fatigue during the fillings and cleaning. In any case, I have found MY DENTIST in the Antelope Valley, and if you’re not a fan of dentists in general, I highly recommend trying Advanced Smile Dentistry, which just might change your mind.

Friday 4÷17÷15 2:30pm Advanced Smile Dentistry 1314 WEST AVE. J SUITE A (phone 661−726−7600) in Lancaster gave me my dental checkyup, x-​rays, and cleaning. It is a fully-​automated office. Paperless. All you need to do is type basic info into the office laptop sign off some releases, give insurance provider, and credit/​debit card info. Now you are in. First, they x-​ray your teeth, then doctor examines and recommends treatment of teeth, and then cleaning. Dr. Shah was very thorough but quick. Claudia the hygenist was very meticulous and caring. Other staff Priscilla and Brianna worked together well. Chelsea worked office and explained costs and info. Very affordable. They don’t take my insurance. They still worked with me. They have a very friendly, supportive dentist team and office staff. They answered all my questions. Even when I repeated same questions. Very kind, caring, and patient staff. I will come again for my next visit. Kathleen D

Okay, where do I start. First of all I haven’t been to a dentist in quite a long time due to a traumatic experience when I was a teenager. I recently had a filling come out, and so I had looked around for a «GOOD» dentist. My sister said she liked this dentist and had used her for cleanings etc. So I figured I would give her a try. OMG was I wrong. The rooms are claustrophobic, but thats just me. Lets start off with the fact that I had just had a baby 3 months before I went in, so I was nursing. I had NO infection at all. but she told me to take 4 antibiotics all at the same time. I thought to myself. she knows I am nursing. I told her that? She is the dr. I must trust her. Then she prescribed me VALUME. Um. I am nursing? But she is the dr. so I must trust her. After I paid and picked up my prescriptions, she then calls me at home and says, after researching this more I don’t want you to take the valume because it may harm the baby. I already called my REAL dr. and he said I would have to pump before I took the pill. and NOT to nurse the baby on it. Okay. So then she prescribes me something else LESS harmful. Okay? So now lets get into the dental work. — Let me just start off by saying I live over an hour away from this «dentist». So my husband has to take off work everytime we go into the office. what should have been a 2 trip visit. turned into 6 trips!
So I go into her office the first time and she says I need a «root canal on that tooth» Okay. SHE SAID I could have the Nitrous during the visit. SHE LIED. they put it on me for 5 minutes. Charged me for the gas btw. She said she can’t work on me with the gas on??? what the hell is the point of gas if it isn’t on you during the treatment? Well, she did the root canal, USED HUGE old school needles (Most dentist don’t use those anymore) .and sent me home with a temporary tooth on. The next morning I woke up and my lip was still very numb? Came back in a few days later (Lip still numb) asked her if that was normal and she says YES. That happens sometimes if you have a lot of anxiety? Well she did impressions that day and sent me home. Keep in mind she NUMBED me for impressions? . ((WHY WE DIDN’T DO IMPRESSIONS WHEN I WAS THERE LAST TIME while I was numb??)) Also keep in mind I have to take an anxiety pill and pump every time I go in. So I come back in 2 weeks later (lip is still numb from the first time) and the crown DOES NOT FIT… she starts shaving my already shaved down tooth to try to make it fit. numbed me again. and said she had to do more impressions. OMG. So go home with a temporary tooth again. the same day the temporary crown falls off. So she says come in. um. I am an hr away. So we drive all the way back up there for some glue, then drive home agin. 2 days later it falls off again. OMG!!! drive back up there and she hands me the glue packets they used. WTH? why didn’t she give these to me 3 trips ago? By now my husband has lost a lot of work and I have lost my mind. SO to end this story. I went in for the permanent crown again. and guess what. lol it doesn’t fit! Surprise !! She says I am so sorry I have to numb you again. and take more impressions. OK look, the needles are my worst fear. she already more then likely permanently damaged my nerves from the huge needles she used (says another dentist). I was completely ruined by this time. I could not take it anymore. I had a huge panic attack and I ran out to the car. they begged me to come back in and be tortured, So I left with no temporary and no crown. I was DONE!
I found a dentist that had amazing reviews near me. He looked at my X-​rays etc. and said she didn’t do a good job with the shape or finish of the root canal. THATS WHY THE TEMP KEPT FALLING OFF he said that should have been her first sign that she did a horrible job. He fixed it in one visit, he did find one small cavity and did have to numb me, however he showed me all the high tech stuff they have now days. an automatic electric needle that I DID NOT feel. He used the nitrous on me the whole time :) Unlike her office! I did have to take a pill because I was traumatized all over again with the other dentist. But really didn’t need it. This office only uses white fillings and says he hasn’t done a silver filling in years! That is AWESOME! He completely redid her shape of the tooth and put the temp in, came back in 2 weeks and whala! I have a permanent crown! He has told me that she probably damaged my nerves on the right side of my mouth permanently (sucking out of a straw is very difficult now and annoying) they talked to my insurance company and they charged me for things that were NEVER done. like a post that was never done? they make more money charging your insurance co for things that are never done. Gas that was not used for more then 5 minutes. This dentist needs to close down! the girls up front were nice though. hope this helps someone like me!

Very friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere I mean which other dentist office has a Kerig as soon as you walk in?! The dentist answers all questions and makes sure you are satisfied with the explanation. This office makes going to the dentist a pleasant experience!

Friendly people, good service. Warm and lovely décor in the lobby. All they need is yoga music, and it would be like a «dental spa» … As pleasant as can be, considering it’s a trip to the dentist.
