Bell’s Tavern is a family friendly restaurant offering a wide selection of beers, wines & spirits. We are home of one of the few Guinness Certified taps in the U.S. We offer, at least 15 wines, 12 brands of Vodka, many fine Whiskeys, high-​end Tequilas, martinis, and a beer-lover’s haven.

Our frosty cold pints have a high quality delivery system. Our tap, custom-​made in Ireland, keeps optimal cooling temperatures, prevents air from getting into the tap lines, and has a built in cleaning system.

Not only does Bell’s Tavern have amazing drinks, but our food is mouthwatering as well. We use only fresh ingredients and offer weekly specials. Try our Chicken Milanese, it’s one of our best sellers.

Bell’s is owned and operated by Chef Paul Eschallier. Paul’s background includes a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Lynn University (formerly College of Boca Raton), and high honors from the Academy of Culinary Arts (Atlantic City). His skills stem from a life-​long passion for cooking and have been fine-​tuned over 20 years of experience. Paul hopes to provide you with such a great time you’ll remember to return to Bell’s Tavern the next time you are in need of greatfood and drinks.

It’s has been a while since I’ve been back as I am trying to try all places in the area. Well I had the burger again and it was perfect, from the bun to the meat. Friends got the chicken parm and pasta carbonara and both excellent. The chicken parm some of the best I’ve had. Service excellent as well. Friend’s wife knock his beer over and they refilled it. That is service. Keep up the great work.

We had a good Sirloin steak and prix fix salmon dish. Tasteful, excellent friendly service. Good casual atmosphere. Very reasonable prices. We enjoyed our meal. Will go back.

Not sure what the fuss is about Bell’s and the crowds; I found the food to be pretty awful. Dined on two occasions (gave them a 2nd chance) and was disappointed again. First time had the chicken parmesan — the chicken was like a Swanson frozen/​rubbery patty; greasy and heavily breaded. 2nd meal was paella — the rice appeared to be cooked separately and tasted like instant rice out of a box — the meat portions were seriously overcooked and sprinkled on top of the rice almost like an after thought.

As usual, we sat in the bar area on our last visit and scored the bistro table by the front window. We ordered the antipasto appetizer and the salad with mandarin oranges and spring mix. Both good. The only thing that would’ve made the experience better would have been a gluten free option for crackers or something to accompany the antipasto (but that’s just me wishing…) Looking forward to another visit.
Thanks for the reply, Sally. I’m new to gluten free and eating at my favorite places is difficult. Time to get creative with my choices. I’d love to try your new items as long as they’re able to be made gluten free. My husband, on the other hand, will try all of them.

Our local place to be on a cold and icy night. Everything about Bell’s ooozes warmth and coziness. Most folks like to eat at the bar where you are visited by Chef Paul and his impeccable staff. Family owned, family friendly.

A friendly, cozy bar a bit out of the way in the north end of town that is very much a locals spot, with a nice dining room attached. They have a decent if somewhat limited beer and wine selection, plus standard mixed drinks. We haven’t had many of their entrees, but their crab cakes (not always available) are amazing, the pasta dishes are good and cheap (the half size portions are plenty of food for a meal!), and the desserts are tasty. Unfortunately, like many places in town, they aren’t open late — the restaurant closes at 9:30 (10 on Fri/​Sat, 9 on Sun) and the bar closes not too long after.

We love the food and the bar is so much fun. Very friendly staff and patrons. It’s sort of our local Cheers restaurant. Sally, Lisa and others are great handling a crowded bar. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the obtrusive, unfriendly hostess. Waking around staring at your plate when the table is not finished. She’s really bad.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT GO HERE. stood waiting to be served for 20 minutes. Finally we get seats at the bar. After being settled in with our drinks taking just a few sips we were asked to move to the standing area because the bar tender needed our seats for people who were going to have food with their drinks. Never in my entire life have I been asked to move from the bar to a standing only area. The bartender clearly wanted the tip from the people who were wait in for our seats because she blantely asked them if they were eating right in front of us. We were embarrassed and couldn’t guzzle our drinks down faster. What a disappointment. We frequent lots of new hope and lambertville areas but We won’t be back to bells tavern.

Had an impromptu dinner here over the weekend after visiting the ever-​impressive Halloween decorations out on Union. We were seated pretty quickly despite there being a wait, and were waited on right away. The place is dark, but nice– you enter into a bar area, with more seating in the back. We were at a makeshift table (I get they’re trying to squeeze in as many as possible) sort-​of connect to two other two-​tops… I would imagine people might not like this, but we didn’t mind at all.
Ordered the baked ziti, which was fantastic, as was the bruchetta. Service was wonderful! I would definitely come back here and know that it will become a staple of mine in Lambertville/​New Hope area.
Tips: Set further down on Union, away from the tourist bustle. Don’t miss it!
Expect a wait unless you come at an off hour.

Bell’s is my favorite restaurant in Lambertville. The food is always great, prices very reasonable and the staff is always friendly. I’ve eaten here often and have never been disappointed. What more can I say?!

Good food, nice laid back atmosphere — unfortunately the young bartender was out to lunch. More interested in chatting up her girlfriend than taking care of her customers. Food can be great but when the service is lacking it can ruin a good night out.

I would rate the food as good, basically a good local Italian spot. Their customer service is another story. I did not realize the restaurant is cash only, so I had to use the ATM machine they had in the back of the restaurant. Well, it seems that they were having issues with it. I tried to take money out and while the machine indicated it was dispensing cash, it never did. I asked for assistance and was told they were working on it and would check on it. I would assume it was the manager came out of the back and looked at it — literally just looked at it and said he tried earlier to fix it — so he had no idea. I told him and another person there that I tried to get money out and it indicated that it had dispensed cash, but never did — what could they do to help me. The response was, nothing. Not, here is the number of the service company, open the unit up and take the cash out for me (they had a key so they could add money to it), they did nothing. What they did to to help me was tell me to go down the street to the CVS to get money out to pay my bill.
If their customer service was any better I would suggest this place, but just poor customer service. I really doubt I will go back.

Went to bells tavern for dinner with some Friends.
Ordered a pasta dish. The sauce was ice cold and the pasta wasn’t hot. The most annoying thing was that the hostess kept coming bye our table in the bar as if to push us out of the restaurant so they could sit additional people. Left dissatisfied and disturbed bye the unprofessional service and poor food.

Very impressed with this low key old style Italian American restaurant. In a quite neighborhood surrounded by houses and small antique shops. Had the same feel as going to the old style Italian restaurants in Clifton, NJ with my parents when I was a small kid. Bar in the front and a dining room in the back.
It is decorated the same as a 60’s restaurant. Not trying to be noir, just have not updated since it was opened in 1938. Clean and well kept.
Food, outstanding. We had the sausage and broccoli rabe with orrichette. Also had the Salmon special, served with potatoes. Friends had the brochette as an appetizer, they loved it, huge plate. We had the heirloom tomatoes with burrata. Very good, a little more cheese would have been nice.
Dessert was a huge slice of banana cream pie and bread pudding. Large servings and very good.
Service was great. Looks like mostly a place for locals.
The bread was not very good, but who cares when the real food is this good.
Best, are the prices. Premium vodka, was $ 8. Glass of wine $ 4.50. The appetizers were under $ 10 and the main dishes under $ 20.

My wife and I really enjoyed the walk from downtown to this place… as others have said, it’s off the beaten path. On our walk, we really enjoyed checking out the houses and getting the ‘real’ small town feel of Lambertville. Typical bar food with extra focus on Italian dishes, the food met our expectations without a wow factor, and we were fully satisfied. We came on steak night, which is a GREAT deal. Decent beer selection but won’t blow you away if you’re looking for multiple craft options. I can see why this place is a local fave.

We have two boys, 7 and 3. That makes eating out an adventure more times than not. Bell’s was not only incredibly family friendly, our server was tremendous with the kids. The food here is very good and very affordable. We’ll be back.

First time eating out in Lambertville. Picked Bell’s Tavern after going through reviews on Unilocal.
The restaurant is located several blocks north of the downtown Lambertville area and is situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood.
We loved this place. From the friendly /​attentive staff. To the amazing Italian meal. For appetizers we had the calamari which was light and crispy and the fresh tomato and mozzarella salad. The tomatoes were the best I have had.
For dinner I got spaghetti al dente with meat sauce. The sauce was great and the pasta was cooked perfectly. My wife had the mushroom ravioli with cream sauce special.
Can’t recommend this place enough. It’s going to be hard to try other restaurants in Lambertville before going back to Bell’s.
