People are nice and the food is okay. Not the best, not the worst

I got the teriyaki chicken and beef and it was so good! Very satisfying and for a good price. My husband got the sesame chicken. Tasty with the right amount of crunch.

One of our favorite places! Seriously, we’ve been customers for 10+ years. The owner has seen me through 3 pregnancies. My kids love the owner. She definitely spoils them. I’m a vegetarian and their tofu dishes are the absolute best around. Flavorful and crunchy, without being greasy. I recommend the tofu fried rice with teriyaki sauce. Yum! My kids love the teriyaki pork best and the hubs digs the general Tso chicken. It’s not deep fried– even better! Lunchtime is always busy, but dinner is always nice and quiet. Love this place.

Okay. I try to be fair when I review and when it comes to this place I will be. First time visiting it with my son he ate and I didn’t. The hostess was kind enough to let me sample some of the sides(the spicy bean sprouts are yummy) since I wasn’t really eating. Okay I snacked on an order of Gyozas(which I shared and my son ate mostly of– so technically I didn’t really eat. *ahem*. Anyways moving on. My son wanted Yum Yum again and this time I looked forward to going because of how we were treated the last time there. My son & I both ordered the short rib meal and a side of Gyozas as well. The food came out fairly quick which was a plus but what I saw was REALLY disappointing. The short ribs were skimpy. I mean. literally felt like they scraped the barrel to come up with what they served my son & I. There was barely any meat if any on most of the short ribs and the ribs we did get consisted of fat. So I basically paid for bone and fat. The food is good and I felt bad for the hostess who asked if everything was ok and I told her the problem but was so irate I was eating my food to avoid saying anything mean or rude since she is really sweet. I just resolved to never go back there again with my son. Our meal together costed us $ 36.00 bucks so I kind of felt cheated paying so much for meals that felt shorted on the meat(which primarily is the bulk of the cost in a meal to begin with) along with small sides to go with it. ANYWAYS I may or may not change my stubborn mind and go back but who knows. Just a FYI to be cautious ordering the Short rib meal if you go.

This food is decent. Nothing special. We go here when we want a quick fast food fix. It’s at least consistent with the taste, meaning it’s never tasted terrible but it’s never tasted amazing either. It’s located in the Lakewood Town Center right next to Subway. The lady that works there to take the order is always nice and polite. She has a heavy accent but it’s still audible. I got rice & teriyaki chicken/pork. Again, it’s good, it’s decent, it might be a tad bit overpriced for the«dinner menu», for the amount of food you get but it’s not a bad price though. The plate I got was I believe $ 7.95 for the dinner price, but for that same plate, had I gotten it for the lunch special it would have been $ 5.95. It’s a good place for food on the go for your lunch break maybe.

I thought this place was alright. The staff was friendly but I felt like the prices were a bit high. The restaurant is inviting and clean. I had the Si Fin which was felt like it had a lot of salt, however their orange chicken was very crispy, not soggy with was very good.

Yum Yum has a lot of positives: Pros: Open Sundays Multiple choices of side dishes Reasonable prices They deliver to our store in the same complex Cons: Parking Location This place is quite small for the volume they put out. Located very close to Lakewood Marketplace, I wanted to give them a shot. The food portion was good for me and I am a heavy eater. All of their side dishes are fresh. Having three different types of kimchi was a huge plus. They also have a small salad and macaroni salad. How American! I can’t say how many times I wanted teriyaki on Sunday. This is the only place I know of around that is open for teriyaki on Sundays. Give them a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

The food is consistently good, relatively cheap, and the staff always friendly. I eat here probably once or twice a month.

Super friendly staff, food is good and priced right. When you walk in you’re greeted right away. You can either order to go or sit down and the lady will take your order at the table. Daily lunch specials with good portions, you get your money worth that’s for sure.

I ordered the mongolian beef and I was very happy with the outcome. The beef was tender and not at all greasy with good flavor. The rice was nicely cooked and not soggy and overdone like some places. Overall I really enjoyed the food, I just wish the portions were a little bigger.

Went here with a friend when she visited from Cali. She said this was her favorite teriyaki place when she lived here. I ordered the bulgogi. The portion was pretty small for the price of almost $ 10. Sunny #7 in Lkwd or even both of the House of Teriyakis in Tillicum have better for less. I think the major reason why people favor yum yum is because you have more options for side dishes, that sit in a little mini buffet that you get to pick from. They arent anything special to me, and their kimchi is almost like cabbage with chili sauce on it… bleh!

The friendly staff greets you upon entry every time. Since we are regulars there, our order is pretty much a given on the appetizer. It comes out really fast-sometimes before our regular order is taken. Even so, our regular order comes out really fast too and is always tasty. The owner usually throws in a video for entertainment. Dinner and a movie taken to heart. No waiting for drink refills either-she’s right there and fills it up or takes your cup to refill right away. You can always call ahead and get your order to go too. The side dishes are the usual Korean ones. Strange how many of the«Japanese» restaurants are run by Koreans in this town – I guess not many Japanese live here. I did try the bento box though and the sushi was ok. It was prepared well and displayed in a wonderfully colourful manner. Good for a quick bite.

This place is a great for a quick meal. Good, filling portions of teriyaki chicken, various Chinese dishes — the sesame chicken is outstanding — and other mainstays such as teriyaki beef, yakisoba and chicken katsu. I especially like that they have other options than just cabbage salad as the side dishes; among the options are kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, salad, macaroni salad and rice noodles(my personal favorite). The lunch special used to be cheaper, but even so, $ 5.95 is a deal considering how much food you get. The quality of the meat is very good, too. They even have sushi! I don’t even bother trying the other teriyaki places in town. Yum Yum is yum enough for me!

As soon as I walked in the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I ordered bulgogi which wasn’t bad, not as sweet as I would hoped. I got a free kimchi side which was real nice, it was really fresh which is hard to find around here but not enough spicy sauce on it. And the rice had sitting for a few hours. The food wasn’t the best but the staff was super nice and giving out free samples to everyone. It’s a good spot for cheap fast Japanese/Korean food.

First of all, the service here is great. The lady is quite friendly and let my wife sample all of the different«sides» that were available. My wife is a kimchi fiend and reported that theirs is quite good. I don’t do the fermented spicy cabbage thing, so you will have to go with her taste buds. We have tried Yum Yum twice in the past week. During our first stop, we both had the Teriyaki Chicken lunch special. The prices are great and the food was pretty good, too. The sauce is not too sweet and the chicken was nicely grilled. The rice was cooked perfectly, not a gloppy starchy mess. The only possible negative was the portion size. It was actually pretty skimpy for a teriyaki joint, but the quality is great. In our seemingly never ending search for the best Mongolian Beef in Tacoma, we recently tried Yum Yum again. I went with the Mongolia Beef lunch special with a side order of egg flower soup. I have been a little under the weather lately and hoped this would speed my recovery. The Mongolian Beef was a major let down, unfortunately. It was pretty bland and quite greasy. The soup was great, though. My wife opted on the Teriyaki Chicken lunch special again, but with a side order of Spam Musubi. She has been wanting to try this little specialty for the longest time and loved it. She said that it was very savory and not too«spamy». I don’t get it, but like kimchi, we have very different palates. Overall, a pretty decent little place, but our Mongolian Beef quest continues…

Always passed by this place when I’m heading into Subway, finally tried it not too long ago. I would have to say that it wasn’t the best. I really Japanese food and this place definitely was below average on how teriyaki chicken should taste. The appetizer was quite odd too but hey doesn’t hurt to try once! There could definitely be some improvement, but this would be the last place I’d go for Japanese cuisine.
