History

Established in 1953.

In the 1950s, despite growing interest in diving, there was nowhere in Seattle to get dive-​training or supplies. Divers had to rely on mail order catalogues for all their gear. Local skin-​diving legend Gary Keffler — champion sport diver and professional commercial diver, decided to fill this need and turned his love of diving into a Seattle institution — Underwater Sports. Gary built a one-​stop shop for all things diving: professional equipment, superb training, great service, and underwater adventure.
