Reliable Electric

John has been to our house a few times to do some electrical work. Every time has was there on time, and got everything done in the same day as promised. He works quickly, charges a reasonable rate, and is the most professional electrician we have ever hired! Highly recommended.

Talk about Reliable! I called on a Saturday looking for help with re-​wiring a botched 220V outlet. we had just moved into this new house, and I had been without a dryer for two weeks, and I was fed up with trying to make it work using friends and family. John called me back within 2min of leaving a message and was standing on my doorstep 20 mins later. He was friendly and cheerful and took to looking at the situation right away, and had it re-​wired in under 30 mins. The house is 35 years old, so he also checked on the main ground wire into the house for me. He gave me some good insight into modern code and how new houses are wired versus old ones, but assured me that ours was solid. Reliable is my new go-​to electrician for any job big or small.

Amazing service. We had an electrical issue late Sunday evening John called back right away, came and fixed the issue then suggested we fix our other switches and outlets. His price was fair and even below average price. He was prompt and professional! I highly recommend John to anyone who is looking for honest and high quality electrician.

Our hot water heater went out recently and after getting the tank removed and plumbing fixed up I had John come in to install an electric tankless heater. John was in the middle of a very busy schedule but he kindly squeezed us in and worked hard to get the job done in one day! It is no easy job upgrading electrical to get a tankless water heater set up but John was more than up to the task. He had to rewire an area next to our deck and he did so in freezing temperatures and snow! He did a great job and had a very professional attitude the whole time. In addition, he was very kind to my son who got in the way from time to time. When you’re in a pinch and need electrical, John is your guy!

We called John following a recommendation from our realtor after we moved into our new home (which happens to be 100+ years old). After a few items of concern on the home inspection, we had John come in for one afternoon and take a look. He worked through the home inspection list, tackled projects line by line, and after a thorough estimate, priced everything fairly as a flat fee.
A few months later, we had a couple of small issues in our home and called John again. He got back to us within a few hours of our phone call, and worked with our schedule to find a time to come by. His pricing was again competitive and fair, and he explained each repair he made, all while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor. We again were impressed with his work, and are happy these items are now fixed.

Wow! I am a contractor who subs out the more complicated electrical work. The electrician that I had been using started getting very flaky on me so I decided to try John at Reliable Electric. Not only did he show up on time for the estimate but the price he quoted me was very fair and reasonable. When he returned to actually do the work he was again on time and came prepared. John worked quickly and thoroughly. He even discovered a hidden problem that I missed and fixed it on the spot while he was there for a fair price. At the end of the job he cleaned up and handed me a bill for exactly what his quote was. No shenanigans with the pricing as is sooooo common with many contractors! John will be the first call I make the next time I need electrical work done. My one hesitation in writing this review is that he will be to busy the next time I need him!

The biggest things I look for in a contractor are quality, trust, and reliability. John exceeded my expectations on all three.
We bought a «flipped» home and the electrical work that had been done was subpar. I went to hook up my new TV and the HDMI arced causing my TV, receiver, and other devices to be blown out. I found John here on Unilocal and he did an evaluation of my whole house. What I came away with was enough evidence to hand over to the home builder and get a check written for all of the work to be updated.
Long story short, John came in and completely updated the home. All with only a single drywall hole cut into the wall. He was friendly, fast, and even completed the job earlier than his estimate.
I highly recommend him for any of your electrical needs. My brother is a master electrician in Washington state and corroborated everything John was telling me. Very happy to have found him. And very happy our home is now safe.

Let’s be honest here when you have an electrical problem you have two choices, ask a friend for a referral or hop on google and pray you come across a good, honest company. My friends referral couldn’t make it the next day so I resorted to Unilocal.I rolled the dice as I had an electrical emergency that I needed to take care of within 1 measly day before I sold a house so I picked up the phone. I saw this company had a good review and it was close. Gave John a call. He answered the phone. He was polite. He said he would come give a quote the next day no problem and do the work same day. So the next day, he showed up on time, wearing a shirt that clearly said John right on it while driving a marked vehicle. This is of big importance to me because I work with tons of skilled trade workers and most are very unprofessional, and the ones who aren’t charge an arm and a leg. John charged me a price that was so fair I even felt obligated to tip him. He was talkative and friendly the entire time and didn’t mind me hovering over his should watching what he was doing.
This guy was just great, I had to come on here and give a huge recommendation. Give him a call, don’t bother calling anyone else. I will absolutely call him again in the future and will happily refer anyone who asks.

I almost hesitate to write the following glowing review as it likely means John will have too much work to squeeze me in! However, I know he would always be there for me, and he deserves to get more business.
Reliable Electric is John Neumann and John is the prototype of what a Master electrician should be.
He is honest, communicative and takes pride in his work. He is professional, presentable and extremely knowledgeable.
My project was re-​wiring my basement and adding a 2^nd bathroom. After a few other unsatisfying estimates –one including a guy who walked around, mumbled to himself, telling me little and asking less– I was introduced to Reliable Electric. John came in and LISTENED, and asked and explained and suggested and informed and listened some more. He quoted me a better price than anyone else and gave me options. This man knew his stuff and I was hopeful. After I decided to use him he came when he said and got to work. Having never done such a major project I was clueless about specifics, and he helped me figure out the best way to configure the switches so that I could have the most ideal control over my lighting as I moved about the basement. His work was so well done other companies that came to work in my basement commented on what a professional I had doing the electrical!
And I have to tell this story. One Friday all heck broke loose with an inspector who wanted me to jump through some hoops, and made some scary comments about the electrical work. I was in a panic filled tizzy and immediately called John to relay the comments. I could tell he was driving but John listened, answered my concerns and let me vent. After a bit he said, «Try not to worry, whatever happens I will take care of it». He wasn’t trying to blow me off, he meant it and it calmed me down and made me feel considerably better. But not just words, he really did take care of everything. He knows his stuff and because of this he could easily fix the small issues the inspector had made sound major, and ignore the issues the inspector was flat out wrong about. All of his work passed final inspection.
When there was a problem at the bank with my check he patiently waited for me to come down and straighten it out. I was extremely PO’ed and I am sure John was too, but he never showed it, and was very understanding.
I will be hiring him to rewire my parents’ 1955 house top to bottom and he has already finished one bathroom, since that was all I could afford right now. He told me «I’ll work with you and we can do this one room at a time, as much as you can afford to do.» I’m in love!
In the next few years I plan to move out of state and I am honestly sad to think I will lose John as my electrician. So much so, I am wondering if I can buy him a round trip ticket to come to my new home and do work out of state!
He is THAT good.
