Lids

I’m probably the only person giving this store a 5-​star review. I was in here this morning and am currently waiting for my custom hat to be finished. So here’s the story, I went to Cerritos mall Lid’s first as its closer to my house however their machine «wasn’t working» *insert side eye* but whatever, they referred me to this location and I’m glad they did. Justin was (is) the only person working and when I walked in he was dealing with somewhat of a difficult customer. If it wasn’t for his «laid back» and «unprofessional» manner that seems to be the reason for one and two star reviews, that irritating customer could have possibly turned into a disgruntled customer at the drop of a hat (pun TOTALLY intended). He joked around with him and kept his cool while this customer passively-​aggressively complained about the price of custom hats he was already getting 50% off on. While dealing with that customer and trying to attend to me as well, many other simple customers came in. He was dividing his time amazingly and kept a positive attitude the entire time. He greeted every customer with a smile and answered every question. He also made sure to acknowledge me to let me know I wasn’t forgotten. Once he had time to get to me he was super helpful in making my hat. He had great opinions and managed to up-​sale me (which IS his and every other retailers job, for those of you who think you know all but have never worked customer service.) Haha. I’m normally a «no, thank you» kind of girl, but I really felt like he was more concerned with how the hat would come out and look especially once I told him it was a present.
I’ve worked in customer service so I know it’s hard to keep multiple customers happy and in my opinion he executed this flawlessly. I could see where this store would get a 3 star and below review based on size and lack of variety but the experience I just had is a 3-​star review with 5-​star service. So I went with the latter. I can’t speak for any other employee but if Justin is working I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. :)

Wow the teenage boys that work at this store deserve an award for their lack of professionalism, lackadaisical attitude and all around low class behavior. The store reeked of marijuana and there was no one in it before I walked in, just the employees. Hmm… I ask for help getting a hat from the top shelf and they look at me disgusted. Homeboy get your attitude in check get off your chair and come help me. It’s called WORK for a reason, guess kids these days don’t know what that is. After being blown off, I listen to employee 1 telling employee 2 he doesn’t like embroidering the hats so he just tells people it’s broken. Wow.
For my next complaint. These young men proceeded to bully an older disabled patron. I almost cried I was so uncomfortable. I am angry at myself for saying nothing. The disabled gentlemen went to pay and these 2 goofballs laughed at him and told him «speak up champ» he started stammering and couldn’t hardly finish before he was cut off and told to wait. Then they continued to harass this guy about why he couldn’t pay. I had to leave I was so upset. These people should be fired.

Friendly staff, for the most part good selection, kinda pricey.

Don’t take returns even with a gift card. Classy
