Lehrer Fireplace & Patio

Was planning to buy another $ 5,000 of product from Lehrer for my patio including chairs and a flame fireplace, but they have been quite unresponsive to my contractor with getting my first purchase installed — an inside gas stove for the living room — working. They have not returned calls in a timely manner or made much effort to service my account. Avoid.

We went in to buy a new fireplace and mantel plus some outdoor fireplace and furniture. But nobody acknowledged us (I guess we looked poor). I did hang around a until someone got free and he just ignored me like I wasn’t there. So we went to Rocky Mountain Stove and Fireplace and spent 5000. To bad for them because I was going to spend way more there.

Thus far, the customer service with Lehrer’s Lakewood store is superb. We need a fire pit for our deck, and the initial phone conversation was not only polite but very informative and positive. We will shop there.
Update: We shopped yesterday. We were given excellent attention. The staff was informative and polite. We purchased a fire pit and look forward to delivery and installation.

I’m going to go against the other reviews a little bit here and explain why I give five stars:
We went into the shop a couple of times over the course of our search for a new grill. Our criteria were 1. Made in USA (if possible) and 2. Buy local (if possible). There are a couple of good places around town but these guys (Ken was the gentleman who helped us) were not only knowledgeable and friendly, but offered us a very good price for our natural gas grill. He spent time laying out the pros and cons of each product and was not pushy at all. The fact that the staff was laid back and did not push us toward a sale was a nice change. Instead they took the approach of finding out what our need and budget was, and then helped us back into a decision. In the end, we bought a grill that was USA made with a good warranty and well within budget.
The reason for a five star review is because of the need to counterbalance the extreme negative, terse, and somewhat uninformative reviewers below.
In reality, Lehrer would maybe get a four and a half star rating, losing a half star because they are a little disorganized on the operations side when filling out orders etc. The system is clearly not as automated as a national chain in terms of inventory management but if you’re a little patient with the local business, you won’t have buyers remorse once the end product reaches your doorstep.
In all, we are very happy with our purchase.

I was not impressed with the indifferent and condescending attitude I experienced by the woman working there.

Poor customer service. I approached the desk at the back for help after browsing for 5 minutes, neither clerk gave me their attention as one was loudly trying to convince an elderly customer she needed something, and the other just watched them. I won’t be going back.
