Jen’s Union Grooming

My two Shih-tzu’s have been groomed by Robin for years. She is wonderful. Does a great job and the dogs are happy! Two thumbs up!

Bitterly disappointed, shocked and confused that my dog was refused because he ‘looked like a Pitbull’. The lady told me she doesn’t wash pitbulls, she then turned her back and walked away! I replied he’s not a Pitbull. She came back and said «He looks like a Pitbull». Once again I replied he’s not a Pitbull, to which she came back with, «We are booked solid for weeks». What confused me was that a dog wash discriminated against dogs, what shocked me was the incredibly rude way she tried to ignore me and brush me off and the disappointed part — the lame ‘booked out’ excuse. She didn’t ask what kind of dog I had, she didn’t explain why my dog was a ‘Pitbull’, she didn’t offer a referral, she was in no way, shape, or form helpful. So unfortunately a terrible experience. I would tell people to think twice before handing their precious pooch over to such a rude person.

I have taken my dogs there several times and have referred several friends. Every time it had been $ 25. The past 2 times I have been there they have increased the prices with no notice. I requested a price quote and I understand in being a little different once they see the dog. The first time was only $ 10, but this last time was an extra $ 21. Also both times they shaved my dogs claiming they where too tangled to brush out. Even if this where the case… Which is was not… A phone call so I could make the decision myself would have been nice. My friends have had similar issues with this place. I will never take my dogs back there and neither will my referrals, take your business to someone who actually cares about what you want for your dogs and won’t make up prices as they go.

I have been using Nick Jamieson for my groomer for over 10 years. He has groomed many of my furry babies and I have never been dissatisfied. They are friendly and accommodating. I don’t know what Vee J. has in mind but she is definitely off the mark on her review.

I used to love this place, my dog did too. The groomers were sweet and they did a great job at an affordable price. Don’t know what happened to Jen but the guy who runs it now is a complete and total ASS. While the grooming was good, I can only assume he didn’t do it, he was rude, condescending and nasty. I will NEVER go back there again and have made sure to spread the word to my friends as well. Way to tank your business, dude.
Update 3÷21÷13: No I’m not off the mark. Two other friends have had similar experiences since I wrote this and I stand by my original review and have referred them to the friendlier and cheaper groomer we use now, The Barker Shop on 44^th in Wheat Ridge.
