Cleveland Clinic – Lakewood Family Health Center

I have Dr Jan Batista. I like him he straight forward with genuine personality. I am normally in on time and out with in ½ hour. There is no rush just efficient.

I cannot say enough about what a compassionate, caring professional Dr. Mary Walborn of Lakewood is. There is a special place in heaven for her. She takes such good care of my mom and puts her at ease.

My review is specific to the lab. I spoke to one of my doctors over the phone about a concern, and she ordered a few blood tests. At my PCP’s office you need to schedule an appointment with a nurse to have blood drawn. If the doctor who ordered the test is a Clinic doctor, then you can walk into the lab at the LFHC to have the blood drawn. They are open Monday-​Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm. Make your way to lab, fill out a card, and go from there. In my case, there was no one else waiting, so I was beckoned over to the «lab» area and within 5 minutes I was out of there. I’ll definitely return here for any future blood draws.

Not happy with this facility. After moving to the area I needed a GP. I called this location and the first woman I tried to schedule an appointment with was very rude and not helpful. I ended up calling back and speaking with another woman who took all my information and scheduled me. I ended up seeing Dr. Bhatia (sp?). She was nice, but I had to come back for a follow up appointment in one month. It’s now been over three months since I’ve been able to get back in. It’s nothing serious or life threatening, but it’s real annoying and frustrating that they’ve called and cancelled my appointment TWICE the day prior because the Dr was going to be out. They don’t have a lot of appointments in the early morning or in the evening so rescheduling was a hassle. I work 40 miles away, so I can’t just take off work in the middle of the day for an appointment and then head back to work. I’m an understanding person, and I realize the Dr is busy, but because I’m being rescheduled I feel they should be able to accommodate me a bit better, rather than just rescheduling it another 2 months away. I will now be looking for another GP.

I try not to go to the doctor. This year has been lousy for me. I have been having buzzard luck. 3 times here in the last 3 months or so. Each time I call, pissed off in the morning, I can always get through and be seen that day. A $ 20 copay beats the ER visit price and agony of going to the ER. If you need X-​rays, they will refer you immediately to the Lakewood hospital and get that taken care of right away. This place has really come in handy this winter. I recommend it.

The staff here is very professional; there is a lab on site so you don’t have to worry about making an extra trip to a hospital.
