City of Lakewood

From low income people in Birdtown to gleuten-​free, boat shoe yuppies on the West End, Lakewood is a melting pot for sure. There are bars and restaurants to suit any kind of people. From 16 dollar grilled cheese at Melt and wine bars to places with .40 wings and 36oz draught beers. Lakewood has it all. Its great people watching. Only place where some kid who still thinks its 1993 and listens to Skinny Puppy will pay 7.00 for a Founders breakfast stout and Thad (who has more money than God) will chug 16 Coors Lights at the same bar. Hell, even the cops will pull people over for not using a turn signal at 2am but not use one when pulling out of headquarters on Detroit. Hypocrisy is a sombitch, no? All-​in-​all its a great place to raise kids. Great parks and the library is killer. But the crowning achievement is the Lido is walking distance…

I love the City of Lakewood and if I were to ever move back to the frozen tundra that is NE Ohio I would likely pick Lakewood as my destination. There are lots of things to do, see, eat, and drink in this city. And it is fairly pedestrian and bicycle friendly — look 3 times before crossing a street tho. I’ve heard the school system gets pretty good ratings in case you have rug-​rats. All in all, I don’t think people appreciate living along Lake Erie as much as they should!

Scene magazine is good for Savage Love and finding out what bands are in town. I read their «Best Of Cleveland» issue last week and laughed at it. I saw that Lakewood was voted Best School District. They are right about that. It isn’t always about how smart the kids are, or what type of ratings they get or where the graduates go to college, score on tests etc… It is about what school district will produce the coolest kids. I went to Lakewood.

Grew up in Lakewood an I still live here an I love (ok not really lol) all the new stuff going up an all the businesses booming but why are they taking all the stop lights out an replacing them with «warning light»? These idiots don’t care about no damn blinking light when someone is trying to cross the street
