Lakewood shop was awesome too me! Free tow in and free diagnostic charge… Who does that these days? Back on the road in the time promised and a warranty! Highly recommend!

I took my Suburban to their Lakewood location and was very pleased by the customer service and work I received. I felt like George was very fair and honest with me. The work was completed very quickly, and I was given the option to retain the old (replaced) part., I’ve never been so happy with a mechanic, and I’m very happy that I found a place that I can trust.

I took my truck to Advanced Transmission Center in Lakewood in June of 2008. I was having a grinding noise with play in the drive line when I would shift from forward to reverse. They found the rear diferential needed repairs and I agreed since that made sense to me with the symptoms the truck had. They put a Ring and Pinion bearing, Master bearing kit, axles, axle bearings, and seals. Well everything seemed to be OK after I got the truck back. I don’t drive the truck much and it only gets used to drive around town a little and to and from the airport. I don’t pull or haul anything regularly with it. Final cost, $ 1,726.
Well, about two months ago, I noticed that I had that wine sound back, but no grinding sound coming from the rear of the truck. I took it to a different place and they discovered that a pin was missing that helps hold the differential in place. They did not find any pieces of the pin when they took the housing cover off and the differential out. This makes me think that it was never installed in the first place. Turns out that the differential was shot and the gears on the ends of the axles weren’t seating up in the differential gears like they should thus probably the source of the wine sound I was hearing. I ended up replacing the entire differential for the cost of $ 1835. That included everything out the door. I was also informed that I was over charged and charged twice for parts that should come as a kit! I was over charged for the Ring and Pinion bearings and also charged for Master bearing kit. These should come as one kit that should have cost less.
It’s now 2014 and I have only put 26,000 miles on the truck since I had the work done by Advanced Transmission. After looking around on the web, I see I’m not the only one with a bad and deceptive experience with them. With the limited driving my truck gets, the work should have lasted much, much longer!
After having the work done at the second place whom I do trust, I don’t have the wine sound anymore and my truck runs like it should. And, it came with a two year, 24,000 mile warranty. Do yourself a big favor and do NOT take your vehicle to these amateur crooks!

Great customer service and wouldn’t let my car out of the shop until everything was running smoothly. They offered to tow and diagnose my car for free as long as I had the work done there. They tried to get my car back to me asap but ran into some issues which can be expected. Thought it was a little bit pricey but when your in a jam what can you really do? ONE THING I WOULD BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT is not to leave anything valuable in your car. Although they did reimburse me for some of it and not like it was a big deal but my change compartment was cleaned out when I picked up my car… not even a penny left and I could tell that my glove box/​center counsel were gone through. Different things were thrown onto the passenger seat that I did not leave there and they should not have had to move to drop the tranny out for work. There may have been $ 7 – 8 in change but that’s not the point. Should be able to trust them to not go through your personal stuff. Good work but trust is an issue
