I took my car to Whitakers after a wreck… They dealt with the insurance company, took my car in within a couple of days, even with all the hailstorm damaged cars. I got it back yesterday, and couldn’t be happier! The repair looks amazing, the car was immaculate, both inside and out. They are all personable and a pleasure to deal with!!! Hopefully, I won’t need anymore body work, but would use them in a heartbeat!!!

My car was hit by the hail storm a week before I was supposed to trade it in to the dealership. I have been scrambling around trying to get in ASAP with my insurance and a auto body shop. My insurance company was surprisingly responsive and friendly, but could not direct me to a place that had an opening soon enough. Then I called Whitakers (Lakeway location) and explained my situation they took matters into their own hands and went completely out of their way to make sure to squeeze me in and coordinate with my insurance company. They have not started working on my car yet, but if their repair team is anywhere as great as their customer service I will be extremely happy. I am so grateful that they would go above and beyond to make their customers happy.. so grateful that this is actually my first review ever. I look forward to my appointment with them.

Outstanding Shop! Very easy to work with, and very professional, and the work is flawless.

I’ve had several small repairs done with them in the past. Just recently my mom knocked her passenger rear view mirror off. They put that back together and repaired a few dings. They did it in one fewer day than originally estimated and all the work looked great. Everyone in their office was friendly and knew their jobs, and the owner called me the next day to make sure I was happy. Great service, and solid work.

My experience was amazing! Manuel took such good care of me! Very professional, efficient, and pleasant. The work was done in the time frame I was given and they even when out of their way to buff up my bumper that had some surface scratches on it. Now it looks so much better. Thank you for the great care!

My son backed out of the garage with a door open and damaged both of the passenger side doors. Worked with my insurance carrier on the estimate and then took the vehicle to Whitakers on a recommendation.
The service and work was outstanding. Very courteous. They close at 5pm, but I called and they agreed to wait for me until I got there at 5:30 to drop off the vehicle. They handled all the paperwork with the insurance company. They did the work in one week as promised. This is what good customer service is all about. Will definitely refer my friends to them for work.

Took my wife’s car to Whitaker’s for rear-​end damage. They did an excellent job, it was complete when promised. The owner called the next day (which was a Saturday) to make sure that we were satisfied with their work.

I can not say enough nice things about Whitakers on Pheasant Lane. After my car was damaged, I needed my car in just a few days for an event out of town. The owners and mechanic worked diligently to get my car out in a prompt timely manner. They met and exceeded my goals of quality, prompt, professional work and customer service. No one can tell my car had to be repaired. Did I mention the guarantee they also give?

In the span of two weeks we had minor damage to both of our vehicles and in each case had the body work done at Whitakers. I highly recommend them! They came in under estimate on both jobs (about $ 200 in each case) and had the work finished on time as promised on both occasions. Great customer service with regular updates and the work is exceptional. Hope we don’t need them again for a while :) but when we do, we will definitely be back.

Whitakers body shop is fantastic. They took my car on the spot (others had a 1week wait). They called enterprise for me and I was out of there in 25 minutes in a rent car.
My car looks like new and they even washed it for me. Very professional and very courteous.

Whitaker’s got my Ford Expedition out 1 week before they had told me it would be ready and I got it back spotless inside and out. Everyone was very professional and courteous! I couldn’t have asked for better service. I’m very happy with the repair work and certainly would recommend them to friends and family.

Brand new single woman in town and got crossways with a fire hydrant which dmamaged rear bumper. Took my Toyota Sequoia by and the tech helped me address the incident with my insurance company and gave me a written quote. The repair cost less than my deductible so I initiated the repair. They helped me with rental car logistics, repaired my car beautifully in half the promised time and for less money (about $ 100) than the estimate! Not only did they exceed my expectations, but Larry invited me to stop by as I needed some help in installing my rear seats, at no charge. They made me feel welcomed to the area and confident in their service. Many thanks and I am delighted to recommend them and their excellent services.

I went to Whitakers for a car repair and made an appt with Steve. He did not show for the appt (made up some excuse that he was caught in a meeting) and made his daughter (who was manning the front desk) tell me this. My husband called him later that day to reschedule and he never called back. I do not recommend this auto body shop. They obviously do not need the business…

I took an FJ Cruiser to Whitaker’s this week for some paint work on the grill, trim, handles and side mirrors. Not only did they do a fantastic job, they went ahead and buffed out some scratches in the paint for free! This is a family-​owned small business and the customer service is excellent. If we ever need any paint and body work done, we will definitely take our cars to Whitaker’s.

So I took my car in for some minor work and a detail a while back. The work was great, car looked like new… when it was actually finished
I am deducting a star for customer service a star for their detail service, and a star for missing something they said they would fix. First, I read all of the Unilocal reviews before I went in about how great their customer service was. I had the exact opposite experience.
They never called me, I reached out to them multiple times and in fact I was told by their rep (cant remember his name but a young guy at the Lakeway location) told me on a few occasions that my car would be ready when it wasn’t. It basically was a case where they quoted me a week of needing my car and then had my car for about three weeks.
On top of this, when they were nearing completion of my car, I was heading out of town on business and asked about possibly dropping off my rental at the airport or at the shop with them. I basically wanted to know what would be the situation if I wasn’t available; their person basically made it seem like I was at fault for needing to travel for business and that I would have big problems. When I explained to him that this was the reason I called multiple times and was adamant about knowing the time frame to avoid this situation he seemed shocked to think that people have lives outside of their cars. I also pointed out that in fact, he himself, had had told me on two separate occasions that it would be ready within a few days (at one point it was almost done and then about four days later he let me know that they just started working on the car… you should probably get your story straight and not give a stock line… people do pay attention).
So, I also fell victim to their «reduced» prices on their detail for getting the work done there. I must say that the detail (I got the level 2 which they assured me was all I needed and cost about $ 160) was so-​so. Definitely did not clean out the cup holders, found a bug in my car and on top of it all, they missed a door ding they were supposed to fix. So instead of having a nice, clean, new car, like I intended, I had a nice, clean, newly dinged car.
They fixed the ding without a problem (I called up to talk to the owner Steve but my call was quickly intercepted by the rep I had dealt with when he sensed I was a little upset). It got fixed and looks OK but guess what, the guy who repaired it made my car completely dirty on the side he was working on which basically made me feel like I flushed over $ 150 down the toilet… Ok so I got a somewhat clean inside I guess.
Work was good 4 out of 5 stars (would have been 5 out of 5 if they got the ding the first time)
Customer service was 1 out of 5 stars
Detail was 2 out of 5 stars
Will never do a detail there again, you’re better off going down the street to the Go2Wash (its not touch-​less but you can get a whole detail for half the price of Whitakers with a better job IMHO).
Not sure if they just missed on the customer service with me or what. Not sure if I will use them again which is a shame as I was looking for a good place locally.

They did a very good job fixing the scrapes and dings on my car, but the customer service leaves something to be desired:
I made it clear that the following Monday I had to drive my car to Houston for a family emergency, and they told me that if I brought the car in Wednesday it would *definitely* be done Friday. Well, Friday came and nobody called, so I pinged them and they said it would «be done sometime next week.» I explained that they had promised it to me that day and that next week was not good enough because I had to leave for Houston on Monday. So, he makes some calls and tells me no problem it’ll be done Monday.
Then Monday comes around and I call them in the morning to check in only to find that they had broken one of my headlamps and were trying to get a replacement, but they didn’t know if they’d get it that day. Ok, fine, accidents happen, so I told him just let me know because I’ll need to hitch a ride with my brother to Houston if I don’t have a car. Well, at 2:45pm he still hadn’t called, and my brother was leaving at 3pm. So, I called and he said they had the part, it would definitely be done by 5pm and he’d call me back in a little while to arrange to pick me up…
Well… 5pm came and went and no call. Meanwhile I’m freaking out because my dad was having heart surgery at 7am the following morning in Houston, and now I had no way to get there because my alternative had already left. I desperately tried getting ahold of anyone there, but they all left for the day. It literally took 15 calls before I was able to leave a voicemail on their system, and needless to say it was not a nice one. They completely screwed me! They also never even called back to apologize — not a single word! When you know someone has an emergency and you tell them «I’ll call you in a little while» you damed well better follow thru.

There are two things certain in life for me: My car will undoubtedly need bumper repairs at least once a year and I will always get it repaired at Whitakers from now on.
First off, I am one of those people who never writes reviews, but after going to Whitakers, there is no way I could not write one.
The bumper of my Infiniti G35 is like a magnet for other cars. Every year, at least one person decides to run into my car bumper, so I’ve been to quite a few shops. I’ve wanted to take my car to Whitakers for awhile now, but the other drivers’ insurance always said I had to take it to one of theirs (by the way, this is absolutely false, don’t ever listen when they say that). Right off the bat I could recognize the amazing customer service. Everyone was extremely polite and nice. In addition, I live downtown, but the insurance for the driver who hit me said the Lakeway Whitakers location is on their list of places or whatever and it would be easier for me to get my car repaired there. I contacted the Lakeway location and they said to drop the car off at their South Austin location and they will drive to their Lakeway location to fix and then drive it back for me to pick up. Steve, the owner, said, «We’ll always do whatever is the easiest and best for you.»
When I got my car back, the repairs were flawless. Every other body shop I’ve been to, there were always problems with the repairs. But, as their were transporting my car over, the spare motor oil container I keep in my trunk exploded. They informed me and cleaned it, and then hooked me up at Genie Car Wash for free to clean it even more. No biggie, because it could have easily happened to me and I would have had to pay for car cleaning.
Two days later, I noticed the paint on my bumper was cracking. I felt bad about the transportation service they gave me, especially after the motor oil incident, so I went into the Lakeway shop directly. It puzzled them for a little bit, but they were readily prepared accept responsibility and fix it for free and pay for a car rental. After closer examination, they found that someone had backed into my bumper (go figure), and showed me the dent, and that was the cause. However, they STILL fixed it for FREE! I got my car back today, and again a flawless repair. (Note: when I got to the shop, they still offered to do the transportation service from South Austin to Lakeway, but I declined for the reason mentioned above).
Bottom line: Whitakers provides the BEST customer service I have seen anywhere, not just in the car repair industry, and they fix cars to perfection. If you need any kind of car repair, you MUST take your car to Whitakers.
