DeMaio leads the Star State Heart team of accomplished and experienced Cardiology staff members and hospital technicians to bring the latest technology, advanced procedures and a companionate approach to your Cardiovascular health.

History

Established in 2012.

Dr. Samuel DeMaio and the team at Star State Heart are proud members of the Lakeway medical community. Dr. DeMaio is a co-​founder of Lakeway Regional Medical Center, which opened on April 16, 2012. He has been practicing Cardiology in Texas since 1990. He started his career after completing a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Dallas at the Baylor University Medical Center. In 2001, he moved to Austin to continue his practice in a new, emerging growth market. In the spring of 2008, he moved to El Paso to develop an Interventional Cardiology program with the East El Paso Physicians Medical Center. In January 2012, Dr. DeMaio returned to Central Texas, opening his practice in Lakeway next to the Lakeway Regional Medical Center. Dr. DeMaio also holds a degree in Engineering from Rutgers College in New Jersey and a law degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in Dallas, TX (Active License).

Dr. DeMaio graduated from UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School (Newark, NJ) in 1983. He completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Baylor University, Dallas TX in 1984 and Cardiology & Electrophysiology Fellowship training from Emory University, Atlanta GA in June 1989.

Dr DeMaio further completed Fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology from Emroy University, Atlanta GA in 1990.

Dr. DeMaio served as an Assistant Editor, American Journal of Cardiology form 1993 – 1994. He has practiced Cardiology with Texas Cardiology Consultants, Dallas TX (1990 – 2001), Austin Cardiovascular Associates, Austin TX (2001 2002) & Capital Cardiovascular Consultants, El Paso TX (2002 – 2010).
