History

Established in 2012.

Involved in the food service industry since 2000, through a somewhat accidental opportunity (a story unto itself) and at Mario’s here in Lakeland since 2006, I left when new owners took over in 2011. By the end of that summer I was considering re-​entering the business and talking with James Rawlins, owner of Bay Street Bistro, which is next door to us. The idea was to convert some adjacent office space that was coming available into a small wine bar connected to the Bistro, which I would operate. The tenant delayed their move and James needed to move forward with some other plans to help better serve his customers. One afternoon over a glass of wine he asked if I had considered taking the entire adjacent space. My immediate thought was no, but I quickly warmed to the idea, especially considering the possibilities the historic building presented. I immediately started working on plans and through the concerted efforts of a dedicated group we opened Studio B in March of this year.

I love this place. The atmosphere is laid back and chill and the live music is awesome and to top it off the food was exceptional. Have recommended this place to friends and will continue to do so. I love supporting local restaurateurs especially when they’re doing it right and this place is definitely on point.

This place is really cute and eclectic. The atmosphere is coffee shop meets beatnik poetry club but with bear and wine. We had the pork dish which was really a great combination of flavors and i also had the white sangria which was legit some of the best wine ive ever had. The menu is limited so if you are coming for variety wrong place… its a cozy place for friends, drinks, and hipster music!

I typically don’t leave reviews, especially negative ones, but the service a group of friends and I received on Wednesday night was absolutely awful. The bartender was rude and very inattentive. She rolled her eyes multiple times while I was placing my very simple order (I ordered a beer that was on display, a salad, and a pizza) she also attempted to charge my friend for a beer that she did not order and was completely unprofessional when my friend mentioned it to her. It certainly wasn’t busy enough for me to take pity on this server, especially considering I waited at the bar for several minutes while she had the time to stock it. After I placed my order I was left with no instruction as to whether or not I needed to pay right then and there, or if the food would be brought to the table I was sitting at, it’s funny because the server asked no questions, assumed my friends and I were all on the same check and then gave my friend attitude about splitting the checks, then proceeded to tell my friend that I would need to come up and pay for my food, but she ended up coming over to the table I was at with an iPad and very rudely asked me to pay. It was embarrassing. I couldn’t believe that she was acting the way she was. I felt totally unwelcome and because of this I unfortunately will probably not return, at least not while such an unpleasant employee is behind the bar. Other than that nonsense the beer selection is decent, the menu is superb, and the atmosphere is wonderful. It’s a damn shame because I really enjoy Studio B.

One of my best friends wanted to bring me to her new favorite wine bar in Lakeland. We walked to this hidden gem from the parking garage about 3 blocks. Inside the vibe is warm, cozy and casual. We decided to sit at the bar, it was small but not crowded at the time. We split a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir. I ordered the Picasso pizza which was great and she ordered the grilled cheese which was definitely big enough to for two! Overall a nice experience and would love to come back.

Had some «extremes» on both sides of the spectrum after tonight’s dinner:
Great: ambience, characters at the bar, choices of beer (small selection but high quality), welcoming environment by both the bar tender and patrons
Terrible: 45 minutes for a cheese board (it’s sliced cheese and condiments, how’d it takes 45 minutes), forced tipping starting at 18%, two people working an area four people should of had (took forever to get orders in and check out)
Over all: 2 out of 5
Recommendation: hire at least one more person, don’t have the bar tender running around at front. I understand it was a Tuesday but meh, that’s no excuse. And starting forced tips off at 18%??? Tipping is optional. Simple as that. (Much love to the service industry but it’s a service ie voluntary ie above and beyond, not a requirement).

Tony’s Studio B is a standard wine bar which also has a good selection of craft beer, a relaxing atmosphere, and a unique menu. I tried the Citrus Seared Ahi Tuna and the Roast Pork Bruschetta. The Ahi Tuna was seared and lightly peppered on the outside and topped with sweet pineapple. The Roast Pork Bruschetta was basically toasted bread topped with pork and jam. The food was enjoyable and nice to have paired with a glass of wine but nothing too memorable.

Great people, great service, great beer, and possibly the best meal I’ve ever eaten. The lamb is beyond exceptional. I’ve only been to Lakeland once before and didn’t stray from the hotel for dinner on that trip, but I’m glad I did this time. I have no doubt I’ll be back, and I’ll be recommending Tony’s to anyone coming this way.

I have been here several times in the past month. I love the place, food is amazing… Lol I think I have tried almost everything. Zucchini pasta, bacon bowl, pretty tomatoes and cheese balls, crusty bread. and that was just in one night. Live music just makes it complete.

Great chill spot in Lakeland. Came here on a Saturday evening. We ordered 2 wine bottles and a few appetizers; cheese plate, bacon pizza and bacon bowl. All were delicious and great pairing with the wine. They have live music and ballroom dancers on certain nights. A good spot for wine and cheese. A little pricey but worth trying.

Love, love, love, love this place! Amazing wines, a changing menu of tapas, micro brews-​plus great live music! Friendly staff, Tony comes around and welcomes everyone-​makes you feel right at home. The décor is gorgeous-​not at all what you expect from the exterior, everything is perfect.
If you want to have a «grown up» night out in Lakeland, this is definitely the place to go!
