Taco Bell

Always takes forever to get you food like they had to go kill the whatever animal it is that makes their meat for tacos.

We walked in at 10:39 on a Valentine’s Day, Thursday night. The floor was freshly mopped and the dirty rugs were hanging on the handrails inside at the checkin! Gross!
The kitchen was not clean. The side of one of the serving bowls had black and greasy goo on the side, which was clearly more than today’s spillage. This was old goop!
We ordered: crunchy taco supreme and a meximelt. The crunchy taco was broken and very messy. What I mean is that it was not put together well or wrapped with any sense of concern. I ate it anyway. The meximelt… See photo #1… MexiMELT? So I went to the cook (who was the only one that I could find) and asked if he could resteam it because it was cold. He chastised me and said «you have to eat it as soon as I make it or it will get cold». In disbelief I showed him the cheese, which was NOT melted. His reply, «I’ll heat it up but next time eat it right away because I steamed it once already when I made it». :-0 Is he serious?!? So, I get it back with PAPER stuck to it and a piece of the end of it torn off (see meximelt photo #2).
I was miffed and refused to eat it. Finally the Manager emerges and my friend called her over. Upon explanation, she made another meximelt, and commented «we know he has a tendency to be rude, that’s why we keep him in back»… REALLY?!?
I have eaten meximelts enough to know what I should be getting… This wasn’t close. I realize it’s a fast food taco chain restaurant, but this was unacceptable even for Taco Bell. I wouldn’t stop here again if it were the only place open and I was starving.
Plus, getting into/​out of the place is awkward, which just added to my miffie-​ness. ;)

This is a decent Taco Bell in the Best Buy plaza on the north side. It is difficult to get into, especially if competing with other traffic, it’s surrounded by curbs and 90 degree angles. Service has always been swift. They seem to have good «high volume» experience. Consistently good «fast Mexican food». Great $ 1 deals.
