Brandon is a very amazing and smart guy. Do not go anywhere else. He is the best.

Our garage door opener wouldn’t open. A guy quickly checked it out, but he said it would require a new powerful opener, and they were supposed to call me back. They didn’t charge any service fee to look at it, though they never did call me back, even after a week. I found another service company that had a cheaper deal. They said I didn’t need a more powerful opener, and they actually charged me less.

Awesome! Helpful on the phone to make my appointment. Price was exactly as quoted. John did more than I needed. Replaced my broken spring, oiled everything, aligned everything. Went above and beyond. I appreciated him and the company. This was the first door company I asked if I could get their sticker so I could remember to use them next time!

Had a broken spring and I was glad I was able to call them on a Saturday night. I opted to wait til Monday morning to avoid the emergency fee, but I’m glad that was still an option, had I really needed it. Brandon spoke a little fast on the phone so it was sort of difficult to figure out which prices applied to what, but that was my only semi-​complaint. John arrived right on time, was very pleasant, and worked quickly. They were very flexible with payment as well. Definitely recommended!

I can’t say much more than what has already been said… so I’ll just say phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. A great company to work with. Prompt, courteous, professional.

Great, reliable and friendly service! The technician arrived within 15 minutes of the projected time. One of the cables on my garage door was broken. He quickly repaired the problem and didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. I would highly recommend this company for your garage door repair needs.

Brandon could not have been more helpful and professional to speak with and arrange the work we needed on our garage doors. Brandon even followed up on the day of the appointment to give me a better ETA and sure enough John arrived at noon as expected. John had previously been out to the house to help with a broken door and did such an outstanding job that we had zero hesitation in getting him back for our tune ups before winter.
John took the time to fully explain everything he had done as well as other items to think about going forward. Solid work, professional approach on every level and good prices to boot. These are your guys.

Great service. We’re here within 15 minutes of letting me know they were on the way. One of the rails in our garage got horribly bent out of shape. He didn’t try to up sell us to get something we didn’t need. Very quality work. Got the job done quickly. Very reasonable repair cost. I would highly recommend them for any garage services.

Found them here on Unilocal,saw excellent reviews and didn’t bother calling anybody else. They didn’t disappoint.
Called them on a Thursday, they were there on the morning of the following day. John quickly diagnosed the issue and did the repair. As good as it gets. Highly recommend.

Called vendor over phone about single garage spring replacement. Was quoted $ 120 with 5year warranty. When installer arrived, he said that cables also need replacement which would add $ 80 in parts, but they appeared fine to me. I insisted that only spring be charged and not change cables. At this point installer informed that in doing this the warranty on spring would be void; when asked how long is typical warranty, installer said 3 years, which is not what was said on phone. Installer proceeded and installed the spring, asking to sign contract indicating that warranty is void. However he said that by Illinois law the spring carries 1 year warranty. They guy left, I googled cable part, brand new $ 7 for pair, looking exactly same as mine on the end connector that ironically was bad according to installer. Suggest to do business in professional way to keep customers and grow. I’ll never refer and only mention not to use this company.

Sorry this review is a little late! Back in Jan. ’15 our garage door stopped working. They came right out within 2 hrs. and had it repaired at a very reasonable price. Technician also explained a potential future problem with the stretched cables and how much it would cost to replace them (also very reasonable). Had them back out and did the work within a couple of hrs. in frigid temperatures. I’ve told my neighbors how professional and prompt they were. Would highly recommend and use again!

Had a broken garage door spring, so decided to give these guys a try. So glad we did! They called about 20 minutes out to let us know they were on the way. John showed up and was very professional and thoroughly explained everything. He even helped us out with an issue we were having with one of our transmitters. We will definitely be using these guys for all future garage door repairs!

These guys are simply AWESOME. Brandon is very professional. He was on time and very honest. We needed a spring replaced on our garage door, and it being an older door with an older motor, he still didnt try to pressure us to buy a new garage door opener. Awesome guy, awesome service. Will always use these guys for garage door work.

Highly recommend! Called Safe Smart on the phone and they were very nice and helpful, knew what the likely problem was and were happy to help. I had a 2 pm appointment and John arrived exactly at 2. John was very nice, got to work right away, and had the job done in no time. John also did some extra services that another company that previously replaced our springs did not do, such as lube the joints and bearings of the door. He did this at no cost. I also asked John what he would have charged for the spring we bought from a competitor and it was substantially lower than what we paid. I will be using Safe Smart for all future garage services and highly recommend you do the same. This is my first Unilocal review but felt it was necessary for me to write this due to the great service that can sometimes be hard to find. Thanks again!

We just moved into a house and to our dismay, a few months later the garage door stopped moving. I wasn’t sure who to call so I did some research online and called about 9 different companies to see what they thought, how much they charged, etc. From the moment I talked to Brandon on the phone I knew these guys were the real deal. From my description of what was going on and the age/​type of opener he was able to give me a likely diagnosis of the problem so that my expectations were set when the repairman came out. I was very impressed with his knowledge.
When John came out he confirmed that it could be fixed but would be about as expensive as a new opener (and then I would still have a 25 year old opener which is at the end of it’s life expectancy anyway). He quoted me a great price on a new opener (like I said, I called around so I knew all the going rates) and came out within a few days to install it. After a thorough tutorial of all the features, including programming the keypad and my car, I had a brand new opener in just a few hours. John was friendly, prompt, polite, very honest and super knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend them to anyone — whether you need a repair, maintenance or a new opener. My experience was great from start to finish!

My garage door cracked due to misalignment and perhaps some prior damage, and wouldn’t open. Safe Smart got a repairman out within two hours of when I called. He quickly and reasonably made temporary repairs to allow us to use the garage. Since they don’t represent the door manufacturer, I’ll have to go somewhere else to repair the panel, or buy a new door. Thanks for the great response!

We decided to install a keypad for our garage because we were always loosing openers on walks with the kiddos. I called and talked to Brandon; he was knowledgable, patient, and was a no-​pressure kind of guy!
John came out to install our keypad. We were given a window of 10 – 11 am and he showed up at 10:00 on the nose! He was friendly and walked me through the ins and outs of the keypad.
I would definitely use this company again with any of our garage door needs! Two thumbs up!

Cold weather strikes! Garage door opener, which has been touchy decides that it’s way too cold to work — so time for a replacement. Called the company who had done work on the doors previously — no response after two calls. So who do I turn to? Fellow Unilocalers!
And wow, were they right. 5 Stars consistently is hard to come by, but Safe Smart really deserves the rating. First, talked to Brandon — he wanted to educate me on what the latest products were, prices, and what they could and could not do. He even told me where to find a good deal on an opener on my own. No pressure to buy anything. Of course, had to discuss with Husband, and he had more questions, so he talked to Brandon. Brandon wasn’t working that day, but they tracked him down and he called us back within a very short time period. Didn’t expect that. So we bought the unit, and called for an install appointment. John was very prompt, installed the unit in the freezing cold, ran me through the fine points of operation and was off. And he put all the recycle in a box for me. No mess to clean up.
Fantastic service, no pressure, very easy to talk to, and they really want you to know ahead of time what you’re looking at for costs and what your options are.
As someone else said, don’t mess around with anyone else, just call these guys. You won’t be disappointed.

Iam not sure why strange things happen on a Monday! I was totally absent minded and backed my car into the garage door and obviously damaged the bottom panel of our garage door, right in front of my wife who was looking at me in disbelief.
I quickly went upstairs and grabbed the safesmart coupon i saved from valpak, called them and a gentleman answered the phone and was very polite and got a tech down within an hour. John, the tech, quickly started working on the door and got it fixed in about an hour. Its back working again with no need for a new panel. Iam glad I called these guys.
I called an other company who claimed they were available «24 hours», actually the ones who installed these doors and apparently they were not available until the next day. Keep in mind I called those folks around 4:30PM.
Use these folks if you need any repair, I think you wont be disappointed.

Great service! Called at 3:30 PM and Rob was at my house before 7:00 PM. Replaced the spring and two bearings. Also lubed and straightened a bent piece of track. Rob was really great and very helpful. He wanted the door to open as smooth as possible before he left. It is much smoother now than it has ever been in the 10 years we’ve lived in this house.
I would HIGHLY recommend giving them a call!
