Offering private lessons in classical guitar, violin, viola, and cello in both Suzuki and Traditional methods. We also offer traditional lessons for drums, piano (classical, jazz and sacred music), flute, and voice. Dedicated to providing the highest quality music education to individuals of all backgrounds and skill levels, ages 1 through adult, beginner to advanced, all instructors hold advanced degrees in their areas of expertise, as well as have extensive performance and teaching experience. Many also have additional credentials such as Suzuki, Orff or fiddle training.

Early childhood classes and Orff classes are available both on and off-​site.

For the convenience of our clients, we boast a modest music boutique in which we stock quality classical guitars in a variety of sizes, and a dynamic assortment of sheet music and accessories.

Established in 2010.

Laura Knight founded Knight Music Academy with the goal of providing superior music instruction in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.

Knight Music Academy has produced several students who have won competitions, as well as students who have gone on to major in music at universities and conservatories across the country.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Laura Knight founded Knight Music Academy with the goal of providing superior music instruction in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Laura has taught classical guitar to children and adults for over 15 years. She holds a B. M from DePaul University and a M.M. from Northwestern University, completed all 9 levels of Suzuki guitar teacher training, and is certified in the Orff music instruction method. Laura was the Guitar Area Coordinator for the 2006 Suzuki Association of the Americas Conference, and the Guitar Area Assistant Coordinator in the 2004 Conference. Laura regularly serves as guest instructor at guitar workshops and camps across the country, and produces annual guitar workshops for students in the Chicagoland area. Laura has been active as a classical guitarist for nearly 30 years. In addition to teaching, Laura has considerable performance experience both as a soloist and as a member of the Pedretti-​Knight Duo.
