This doctor is always running behind and never lets his patients know. He has multiple offices in the north and northwestern suburbs of Chicago and expects a cash or check copayment at the time of your appointment if your insurance does not cover it in full. He has no internet presence and no email communication between the office and patients. Very unprofessional office environment in Long Grove — think garage sale wall decorations throughout, matching CraigsList waiting room furniture from 1982, and leftover sky blue paint in his office that perfectly clashes with the forest green chenille armchairs. My favorite part of the experience is a corner of the waiting room sectioned off with a wooden block garden edging piece, filled with enormous bark-mulch surrounding an almost dead palm plant with 3 – 4 fruit flies buzzing around. It’s a half-hour one-on-one session where he scribbles on on a legal pad, hands you a requested prescription if you describe the right symptoms, and forgets everything except your name next time you visit. The crowning offense is that Dr. Baker is EXTREMELY inconsiderate in his punctuality. I have been there(in Long Grove) four times and I have never been admitted for my appointment less than a half hour after it should have begin, peaking at Dr. Baker running a full hour behind schedule. He is aware that I am taking time off work for this. I’ve confronted him about this before and he just repeats that he is a doctor and doctors are often late, and it’s just ridiculous for patients to expect doctors to show up on time for their appointments. Overall, the whole exchange feels very sleazy, not like you are going to a professional medical doctor at all, or at least one who utilizes any technology from the 21st century. If you need a prescription in a hurry, this is your man, he won’t ask a lot of questions. He’s always accepting new patients because he can’t hold onto them.
