In an effort to enjoy every beach we could visit in Tahoe, we packed a lunch and headed over to Chamber’s Landing. I learned that there is a public beach next to the Chamber’s Landing Bar, which we planned on visiting after we got a little sun and enjoyed some lunch. There were lots of families with kids, some dogs, couples and folks just enjoying the warm air and the cold water. After we were done we packed up our gear and headed over to the Bar for some live music, drinks and cocktails.

It’s next to the Chamber’s Landing private beach, and it’s mostly sand mixed in with pebbles, and closer to shore it’s littered with pebbles, and hard to walk on it. If you have water shoes, wear ‘em. But it gets great sun all day, it’s near the bar, it has a little river that creates a cool little island you can swim too and relax at… and it’s dog friendly. It seems to be off the record, but there aren’t any posted signs saying anything, and while I was there there were at least 8 local dogs chilling at any given point in the day… chasing balls way out into Lake Tahoe, etc. It’s a blast to be able to go to the beach with your dog… bring a picnic, launch kayaks, just have a blast… the people’s beach is groovy.
