Brett gave me a bid that seemed reasonable so I gave him the green light to do the work. When he was finished, I gave him a check for the amount of the bid. He demanded twice that amount. When I asked him why, he said he had made a math error. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and paid him what he wanted.
A few months later, I called him for another project. When he was done, he pulled the same «math error» scam. At that point I knew it was a deliberate scheme to defraud people. Needless to say I haven’t used him since.
