Was visiting and had some time to kill, so I decided to get my nails done. Google only showed two options, this being one of them. I went in and they told me I had to make an appointment, so I did for about an hour later. The woman did well on my nails, but they don’t have many choices for higher end nail polishes (not much selection in general). Also paid over 20 dollars for a normal manicure without any exfoliation, just lotion, cuticle care, and paint. It was over double what I pay at home for the same service (and better at that with more quality nail polish). They were nice and the salon was modern, but definitely over priced.

I had my pedicure done at River Rock Salon in Lake Placid by a girl named Jasmine!!! I had a wonderful experience thanks to her. Jasmine was not only courteous but she was exceptional and making sure the job she did was very through! Jasmine was excellent at listening to what I wanted and didn’t push for other things. I haven’t had that experience since California! I highly recommend Jasmine at River Rock Salon in Lake Placid NY.

Having moved to the north country a year ago, I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to find anyone who could handle my frizzy red hair that was going gray. I have been fighting my hair all of my adult life. Well, no more! Someone recommended Frank from River Rock! Frank not only found the perfect red shade for me (which is almost impossible), but he also does an amazing cut and blow out (also, a difficult task). Frank, where have you been all my life!!!

My husband and I were visiting Lake Placid for a wedding. Due to the timing of the event I planned to get a manicure in Lake Placid.
I was able to make a reservation at River Rock, for the day of… Which was great.
However, when I walked in and saw the polish choices I was less then thrilled, all were at least at half a bottle and they were old. I picked a color which was streaky after two coats. The nail tech agreed that three coats were needed.
Almost two hours after leaving the salon I was getting ready for the event and my manicure completely came off — the Polish was old and thick and just wiped off my nails.
I did call the salon and they refunded my money… (Minus tip). Needless to say, a disappointing experience.

Just steer clear of Casey… i believe she needs to go back to school before she is unleashed to color another head of hair. She’s slow as molasses on a winter day, too.

River Rock is easily one of the best salons in Lake Placid, offering a variety of affordable services in a very relaxing atmosphere. River Rock Salon only uses organic, natural products that are clean for the environment and fitting for Lake Placid’s small corner of the Adirondacks.
Highly recommended for weddings, special occasions or just a quick cut from the best stylists in the industry!

I have been with Frank for years and I love what he does to my hair. I usually let him do whatever when it comes to my cut and he’s great with color… especially when it gets fun! The one thing that I love about River Rock is they now use a more natural hair coloring from Redken so no more yucky smells. Pricing is expensive but not more than other salons in the area.
