An excellent meal for the price! Service was great– I will definitely be returning.

We’ve been here for dinner a few times while in LP for hockey tournaments. If you’re in the mood for Italian food it’s a great place. The atmosphere is OK. If you’re bringing kids be prepared for a wait. We had a larger group of 12 and waited about 40 minutes for our meals, but to be fair it was a Friday night and fairly busy. We did have a reservation. There are beautiful views of Mirror Lake from upstairs but it’s very dark. Anytime we’ve come the waiters/waitresses have all been pleasant but the service slow-be prepared to order a few glasses of wine before dinner. I had a good caprese salad and have had delicious penne pasta with meatballs and chicken parm as entrees before. My hubby is a fan of the lasagna and there’s a good selection of beer and wine. We haven’t found it crazy expensive which is nice with three kids. If you’re there for hockey, lacrosse, or just to visit I’d recommend it and try to be seated upstairs for the nice lake views.

Good place to stop in for lunch. The sandwiches and burgers are not fancy, but who cares because they are good! The views of the lake are beautiful. They’re definitely nice to look out while enjoying your meal. I recommend coming in for a good lunch!

Best place on Main Street to enjoy a craft beer or a glass of wine and an appetizer at the bar. Its been here along time. I have never had dinner here, there’s too many choices for good dining in a small village like Lake Placid

Beautiful cosy restaurant with gorgeous views of the mirror lake. The food was quite delicious, not mind blowing but definitely very good Italian. The dishes fresh and original. Overall great for a romantic evening!

Food was good but it took over a hour to get our food. They were backed up and it was not worth the wait.

We enjoyed a great meal on Jimmy’s deck overlooking the water. The chicken parm was terrific and the Salmon Special was very well put together. We had a great experience and would recommend it to others!

Very tasty Mediterranean salad with scallops, calamari and shrimp! Add a glass of Pinot Grigio and you’re all set. Highly recommend. One of the best meals I’ve had in lake placid.

Deceptively small from the street– don’t miss this incredible dining experience. The décor is authentic, service attentive, and food is perfectly prepared. It’s one of our favorite spots for a special meal on Mirror Lake. Don’t miss it!

We sat on the deck overlooking the lake and had a very pleasant meal here. The view alone is worth of five stars, not to mention the tasty food and great service here. I devoured the bread because I was starving when we got there and couldn’t drink on an empty stomach. The bread was delicious and I loved the dip. We had bruschetta as appetizer and it was ok. I really like the shrimp and scallop tortellini and especially loved the sauce– if I hadn’t had that much bread followed by two big pieces of bruschetta, I’d totally clean my plate.

I have to agree with Omer B. Possibly just about average. I would love to find a restaurant in a tourist town that excels at something besides high prices and mediocrity. I think they assume that the customer will come in once and never again, so it doesn’t matter. The waitstaff was pleasant, even though our order was screwed up & we had an additional 20 minute wait. The shocker was $ 7.50 for a bottle of Heineken. I guess I should have asked. In Vermont, that’s the price of a 6-pack. OUCH! Finally, the place is pretty worn, dingy, needs new carpeting, the railings and surfaces are sticky from never being cleaned. It seems overdue for a general overhaul. Maybe Jimmy is just happy to keep sucking all he can out of it and save $$. We’ll try another place next time.

Went there after a long day of hiking and just wanted to chow down some good Italian food. There was no wait so we were seated quickly on the second floor. Place was dark and just seemed a bit odd; it does have a nice view of the lake though. Tables were bare which I don’t mind but for fine dining I would there would table cloth etc. We ordered calamari and portabella mushroom for appetizers. Calamari was good but the portabella mushroom not so good. For our entrees, we got the baked salmon, filet mignon, lobster ravioli, and few other dishes. Lobster ravioli was pretty good, filet mignon was tough and chewy, other dishes were just average. Overall, I think the food was just average, so I don’t think it was worth the hefty bill. I visit Lake Placid every now and then and Jimmy’s will not be on my list of places to eat.

After running the marathon, we came to this place based on Unilocal reviews. We weren’t disappointed. We sat on the deck/outdoor seating overlooking the lake. The view was really nice. If I didn’t have to drive back, I’d have just sat around all afternoon and drank beer. We had Buffalo shrimp. Meh. The sauce was too salty. My son and I ordered Veal and Chicken Parmigiano with pasta. My wife ordered Mediterranean Salad. The Salad. Wow. Tons of shrimp, squid and scallops. And the dressing was just delicious. My wife was very satisfied and I was impressed. The Parmigiano was pretty good and the presentation was nice. They didn’t go crazy with the amount of pasta. And the price was just so reasonable for a resort town. And the waitress who waited on us was so courteous. I had the local IPA which was delicious. I forgot the brand. It had a very pleasant citrusy/fruity finish, which is quite rare in IPAs I’ve tasted wherever I travel. I’d love to go back to Lake Placid and to this restaurant.

After a long day of hiking Mt Marcy, my mind could only think of steak, heavy carb food and cold beer. I wanted to enjoy dinner by mirror lake, Jimmy’s has an upstairs deck with a great view of the lake. perfect for what I needed. The deck seemed to be the only section in Jimmy’s that has good atmosphere(during summer time). Its interior looked dark, gloomy, and stuffy so if you can be seated outside, it should be your preference. FOOD Fried Calamari — surpringly delicious. Not too heavy in batter. Marinara sauce was flavorful. Ribeye(special of the day) — was bland. Needed some serious reasoning. Capellini Fruiti de mere — delicious. Lots of seafood. However, mussels didn’t taste fresh. Large portion. If you are in town for a few days and wanted some Italian food. Jimmy’s offers plenty of selections.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch today because the outdoor menu looked good and reasonably priced. There was no wait when we came in(unusual for lunch time), in fact there were only 2 other tables sat other than us. The first things we noticed were the kind of odd, and unusually loud piano music. It made everyone sitting feel the need to whisper, like we were in a library or a museum or something. They have paper placemats and paper napkins which would be fine for a café or something but not for a restaurant that is consistently trying to be a little higher end than that. The atmosphere is fine, but the décor needs help. There’s some weird wallpaper that I don’t quite understand. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. It was only 7 $ on the menu, which is great but made me a little nervous. But when it came out, although the presentation could use some help, it was pretty good calamari. Crispy and not overly seasoned, and not rubbery at all. We had to wait to get our orders taken for a while which was annoying because there wasn’t anyone in here really, and when we looked over we could see the only two waiters, including our own, sitting down at a booth and talking(pretty unprofessional). Also we never got plates for our calamari? So we kind of just made a mess on our cheesy paper placemats. For our entrees, I got the baked salmon which came with a sautéed vegetable for 15 $(pretty reasonable), I asked for broccoli but got asparagus, and my boyfriend got a smoked turkey sandwich for 10 $ and thought it was good, but it was something we probably could’ve made on our own, and it didn’t even come with a side of fries, it had to be ordered separately for 3 $ extra. All together it was a really subpar experience. And the service was kind of bad considering we were just one table of the three in the entire restaurant. If I could give it two and half stars I would, but it’s not good enough to be rounded up, so that’s why I gave it 2.

Food was decent standard Italian, vegetables & sauces were fresh, food was well prepared but nothing wowed me. Portions were appropriately sized and not oversized. Prices were a little high. Not enough small/healthy plate options for my taste. Staff was friendly and attentive.

My family is in town on a vacation at Mirror Lake. Jimmy’s was able to accommodate eight of us without a problem. They sat us upstairs and we had a fabulous view of the water. I ordered a salad with the house Italian and the create your own pasta dish. I chose the tortellini with the creamy vodka sauce. The dish was quite delicious without being too heavy. My husband got the eggplant rolls which were on special that night. He was very happy with his choice was my sister. My mother was raving about the chicken masala saying wit was the best she had ever had. Chicken parmesan was what my father chose and it was a very generous portion. Even the spaghetti and meatball kids meal my 10 year old orderd was a highlight and a large amount of food. The wait staff was very friendly and professional. The service was prompt and attentive. Our glass was always full and cluttered dishes were promptly wished away. It was a very pleasurable evening. I would highly recommend stopping in for some Italian at Jimmy’s the next time you are in Lake Placid.
