Welcome & Thank You for Your Business

History

Established in 2005.

This business was first owned/operated by a Korean couple who also own another restaurant in the Pearl district. As their restaurant got busier, they find it harder to operate two businesses at the same time. They began searching for a partner to help with the operation and found a Vietnamese couple who had just moved to Portland from another state. The two couples got on with each other instantly as they share a love for foods, and the expertise in restaurant operation.

The Vietnamese couple have extensive knowledge and experience in food operation. The wife came from a long line of restaurant operators/owners in Viet Nam. The husband had a degree in Culinary Arts and had opened two restaurants in San Francisco in the 80s. Even though they hadn’t been involved in food operation recently; they decided to get back in the food industry once they moved to Portland. It was as if fate would have had that these two couples met and joined forces to run these food establishments.

Meet the Manager

Chi L.

Manager

A mother of two beautiful children. A high school graduate from Vietnam who couldn’t continue her education further for lack of resources. Chi came from a long line of restaurant owners/operators. As a child she helped her parents with their small restaurants. When older she worked in her older sisters’ restaurants, doing everything from cleaning, cutting, preparing, cooking and serving foods to customers.

She became a favorite person to go to for specific food plate because people like the way she seasoned her food. Many urged her to strike out on her own but she politely declined saying her sisters need her help more. Chi learned to cook in America, first for her husband, then her children. She got so good that she receives requests from her family constantly. Chi loves cooking for her large clan whom getting together on the weekends is the major event of the week.

Chi loves to get to know her customers on a first name basis. She smiles often and loves to chat. She is fast.
