History

Established in 1986.

Phil Chek and Associates, was founded as the individual practice of Phil Chek, whose goal and philosophy from the firm’s inception has been to serve a sophisticated clientele desiring a high degree of original design and personal attention.

The interaction and exchange of ideas between the client and designer during the design process ensures that the client’s individual needs are met. Attention to detail and a high level of quality of the completed design have been the hallmark of the firm and are evident by many repeat commissions.

Phil Chek’s extensive personal background, combined with the diversity of his projects, has given him a wide range of experience, on both corporate and residential levels. Our work attests to the ability of the firm to achieve results of excellent design quality which fully satisfies a demanding clientele.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

As a visionary designer, Phil Chek has made his mark on the design industry over the past 23 years. Successfully completing his bachelors degree of science for Architecture and Environmental Planning from Oregon State University in 1974, Phil began a career that would make him one of today’s most versatile designers.

Following the completion of his degree, Phil would go on to study around the world, ending up in London, England to earn extensive knowledge in classical and contemporary landscape design.

Upon returning to the United States, Phil would attend a post-​graduate program to study architecture, interior design, and education at the University of Oregon. Phil was credited as being a exemplary student, and as such was an outstanding teacher. Following the completion of his education, Phil would teach others his growing expertise of landscape design at Lane Community college, and consumer economics at the University of Oregon.
