This is officially my favorite new men’s clothing store. Premium goods, and priced accordingly! The real gem though is Carol, one of the proprietors, who gives absolutely fabulous sartorial advice, is sweet as can be, and has a fantastic dry wit. One of her quotes was – «no no, not the gingham. You don’t want to look like aunt Tessa’s tablecloth».

As the previous reviewer said, this IS a high-end men’s clothing store/haberdashery. It is, therefore, not for everyone, but for those who need or appreciate beautiful clothing made with an eye, not to the mass market, but to quality construction and timeless style. It would be difficult to get better clothes except by hiring a tailor and having all your clothes custom made. If your main concern, like the previous reviewer, is function, you will look at the prices and say«I can save enough to buy a Cliff Bar if I shop elsewhere,» and that is true. At Patrick James you will not find clothing that doubles as advertisements for the manufacturer(e.g., Hollister). You will not find clothes whose purpose is to impress your colleagues with which logo you are flying. What you WILL find is a friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, professional staff, and clothing that is of such quality that it qualifies as an investment, that you can wear for years because it is well made and not a slave to the tastes of this month’s fashionistas.

This is a high-end men’s clothing store in the oh-so wonderful Bridgeport Village. Everything is 40% off, except for one corner of the store, and that’s still a bit too much to pay for that stuff. Example: a long sleeve, cotton, zip, t-shirt, retailing for $ 150, marked down to $ 90 — you could go over to REI and get a bomb-proof Windstopper fleece jacket and have enough change to buy a Cliff Bar.
