Lake O has a well deserved reputation for excellence. Several years ago when they developed the Luscher Farm property, they addressed all sorts of recreational needs in an elegantly designed facility. This community invests heavily in their sports facilities and so this artificial turf field is in heavy rotation during many athletic seasons(soccer, football and lacrosse). What makes it especially nice for visitors is easy access from I-205, if you an handle driving through two roundabouts. [1] There is a playground for the young ones and two, yes two, dog parks for active and timid dogs. Luscher Farms also has a trail system, so you can go for a stroll while waiting for your child’s game to begin. They even have decent restrooms. If you are a parent who spends half their life visiting a variety of sports fields around the Portland metro area, you will realize what a rare bird it is to have all of these facilities in one location. As a visitor, I know the competition from Lake O teams will always be tough, but at least they make it comfortable to visit. And as a cross-town rival, our teams tend to give as good as they get. [1] You would not believe the things I’ve seen in the roundabout. So for those of you who are perplexed, here is a handy dandy set of instructions.
