I have to protest all of these terrible Unilocal reviews. I’ve shopped at this Haggen ever since it was switched over from an Albertsons about a year ago. The store has what I need, the rices are not unreasonable, and the employees have always been friendly and helpful. This morning I called to ask the meat dept for a special order. They had it ready and waiting when I got there. Definitely a Haggen fan!

Please bring back Albertsons to Lake Grove! We locals liked it better.

Their weekly flyer had four meat items I was interested in. When I went to purchase them, at five pm Friday, they only had one of them. FAIL!

I can totally see why this company is declaring bankruptcy. They price their merchandise as if they are Whole Foods to Zupans– only their merchandise is no where near the level of these stores. I stopped in today to grab something for dinner — thinking something out of the deli would be good. $ 8/pound for salads that look like they have been sitting out all day(which they probably have given the cost). If they are Going to charge this for salads they could try stirring them every now and the so they don’t get dried out…

most expensive grocery store I have ever been to. and why? it’s just regular processed foods. I don’t get it. plus they have half the stuff that I used to buy at Albertsons.

I was really excited when this place became a Haggen’s. As much as I appreciated Albertson’s being so close, they had a horrid selection and terrible prices, so if I wanted to save some money and not shop at Zupans or Whole Foods, I would zip over to Haggen’s in Tualatin. Then I find out the Haggen in Tualatin’s prices are NOT the same as this Haggen. Then I find out(from sad employees) that the Tualatin Haggen is closing! Today I ran into this Haggen on Boones Ferry only to come home and discover the frosting I purchased is expired. This wouldn’t necessarily bother me too much except this is the 7th time I have purchased an expired product from this location! As much as I like that Haggen kept on a lot of the original Albertson’s employees, they have always been terrible about rotating and checking stock. TL;DR not the best prices, easy quick shopping, check expiration dates.

The honeymoon period is over. Prices are climbing and they now never honor my request for paper bags when my reusables run out… it’s like talking to a brick wall(who asked you the question in the first place). How is this so difficult for anyone to master?! I’m just baffled and annoyed.

This store isn’t like a «real» Haggen at all. Considering the nearby competition such as high-end Zupans directly across the street and down the road are lower-cost WalMart neighborhood market and Safeway, this store is really in a funny middle-ground and not competing well. Haggen took over this store as their first Oregon conversion in March 2015. It’s an old ‘marina’ Albertsons with some additions so the floorplan is a bit odd, the sign is different from their other stores and there are three front entrances. The in-store Starbucks remains. I was hoping that some of the Haggen touches would appear here by now, but instead I’ve been really disappointed. On my last visit, the low volume of sales the store is having are pretty obvious as most packaged and frozen groceries are still ‘Essential Everyday’(Albertsons /SuperValu) from when the stock was purchased as part of the store sale. A few Haggen and Full Circle private label items are creeping in. I was too late to purchase anything directly from the service deli, but I reviewed what was in the case. The pre-packaged offerings had some salads on markdown, including my favorite from Haggen, baked potato. I bought a bowl and hoped the employees had learned the«Haggen way» after 3 months. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The potatoes in the salad varied in their level of being cooked, and most were still raw enough to have a fresh potato ‘crunch’ to them. None would flatten with a fork press. Later I heated some of the salad, hoping that might finish off the potato enough to make this product edible, but they were not. After warming, a potato piece with eye spots was present, which I don’t think has ever been the case for me at the nearby Tualatin Haggen. The bakery still appears to be par-baking, rather than offering many of the from scratch baked goods Haggen is known for in their Tualatin and Oregon City stores. Self checkout was pretty straightforward, but the clerk from the regular register had to help me. The Haggen button down shirted uniform seems to be gone as this employee was in a t-shirt and jeans.

Store is a fresh look compared to the past. It is all the same folks which is awesome I have shopped here on and off for 9yrs. The crew seems a lot happier now, and with a happy crew comes better feel. The store has some great new items, prices are comparable to New Seasons and Zuppans. I like the look and feel now

Not only was it too expensive when I only bought two tomatoes the cashier had the nerve to say«thats all you’re buying? Wow.» Lets just say I’m finding a new place to do my groceries.

I’m not so sure what Haggens is all about other than Albertson’s with a ‘farm’ look to it. I’ve been going to this Albertsons for 6 years now and I know the store and staff pretty well. Last night was the first time I’ve gone to it since the update. The selection of product has been upgraded. But at what cost? I didn’t recognize any of the people working there. Where they fired or did they quit because their pay and benefits were cut. They were a loyal bunch. Anyway I was not impressed with the snarling cashier. I can’t blame her as she had no help as the line was backing up and she had to calculate with handheld calculator the cost of the fruits and vegetables.
