This place is great for people who like to stock up on bread and then freeze it. I usually go with the extra discounted shelf and get three loaves for $ 3. The bread is not super soft, but it’s also not completely hard and stale. It seems like a good value for those who aren’t overly picky about their bread and trying to save some money. Plus the staff are always very nice and they have stampcards, which are great for those who use them regularly.

So, there is no Hostess here(bad joke, I know) but they do have an abundance of non expired Oroweat products and Entenmann’s along with local Bob’s Red Mill products, etc. I will say that customer service is really nice, the store is small but I didn’t think the prices were«all that». Some items were priced like what you would think an outlet store would be priced at, but other’s(like the Bob’s Red Mill products) were priced just like the regular old grocery store which reaffirms my belief that an outlet price does not always mean the best price(sorry Woodburn Outlet Mall-I will take Washington Square over you any time)… I did pick up some«fake bagels»(Thomason) and some mini donuts for the family here but nothing else floated my boat or wallet.

«Why haven’t we been shopping here for years?» Credit is due to recent local, Deb F., for getting me in the door. Things to know: 1) I love a good deal. 2) I really, really love coupons. 3) My growing boys and the full grown Mr. K eat a lot of bread. A lot. This discount store is a fabulous idea if you are constantly asking yourself, «Where did that loaf of bread go?» It isn’t such a great idea if you shop for one. The reason is that this is where a variety of products go as they near their expiration date. You need to consume it quickly or freeze it right away. Prices are fantastic. Products along one wall range in price from $ 1.00 to $ 1.65 based on expiration date. The price for the same product at your local grocery store is closer to $ 4.00. In addition to Francisco French bread and sandwich rolls, Thomas’ bagels, English muffins and the like, they also have a number of canned and boxed goods. Natural Selections soup starters, jams, chips, croutons, etc. Those expiration dates seem to be farther out. The thick-cut Francisco French bread makes excellent French toast. A personal favorite! And last time we were there it was hard to pass up the seasonal pumpkin bagels. Oh, but I’m not done. They have punch cards, so you spend your way towards free products. And they have coupons. So a bag full of bagels and bread for $ 5 or less? I’m so there!

Why pay full price for bread when you can stop in here and get the same stuff for a whole lot less? I love this store. The breads here have not expired but they are within a week or so of their«due date» — but still definitely fresh! Not a problem if you plan to eat it quickly and/or freeze it. They primarily carry Oroweat, but also have some Entemann’s products, and a couple other brands. Discount punch card nets you freebies when you fill it up. The same woman was working there each time I’ve been there, and she’s been very friendly; today we got some freebies and she gave my son a packet of muffins.
