I love Ryan too. He’s really nice and cool and my friends and I all want to marry him.

Continental breakfast means cereal and bread out of Styrofoam. Booked a 55 a nite got charged 100+. Then the lady at the front desk was completely unhelpful. This hotel is horribly designed and really really lacks taste in terms of interiors. This is the epitome of horrible. Waste my time and my money here.

They charged us for round-trip shuttle service that we did not fully use. They quoted the price for this service as $ 10 per person round-trip. We only used the service one-way and were still charged the full price. When I called to have this rectified, the staff told me that unfortunately, that was their policy and there was nothing he could do. I addition to this, I have to add that the room was quite dirty and the hallways were littered with debris from a currently ongoing renovation project. This, I wouldn’t have minded however, if it weren’t for the additional charge to my credit card for a service we did not fully use.

Stayed here after my brother’s wedding. Rooms were very nice, no complaints. They sent shuttle busses from the hotel to the wedding venue to pick everyone up and stopped for beer on our way back. They opened up the conference room for us to party in after the wedding free of charge. Didn’t mind that we checked out late in the morning. The staff was so nice and helpful. Would stay there again.

In town for a Phish concert and this hotel was about 13 miles from the venue. Only stayed one night but it was very enjoyable and affordable. The staff was incredibly nice and accomodating. It looks a little dated in the hall but the rooms have kinda cool décor. I wasn’t expecting a 5 star stay so the dated hallways don’t really bother me. The best surprise was the shuttle they offered to and from the venue, $ 15 per person. Theres a nice bar and pizza place next door which is cool. All in all it was very enjoyable and Id definitely stay again.

We had a nice two night stay– The place was clean and reasonably priced, but definitely showed some signs of age. It wasn’t busy, and a bit off the beaten path of the other chain motels by the I-75 and Great Lakes crossing area, which made it quiet. The Palace Inn was suggested by a friend who grew up in the area. I would stay here again, if I were to come to the area. The pool area was nice. The exercise room was the only down side. It was extremely hot in the morning sun and only had one treadmill that worked properly.(I jogged the streets). Other than that nice hotel.

Now called The Palace Inn… even Best Western dumped this hotel. When I checked in for a wedding, there was no hot water and not even a warning the hot water was out. It was the most disorganized check in of my life and you would have thought I was checking into a Disney World hotel for the amount of time I had to wait in line, they had 1 person working! When I called to inquire why I did not have hot water(again I wasn’t warned the hot water was out when I checked in), I was told that they spend $ 2,000 to bring an engineer out, etc. etc… basically that my desire for hot water wasn’t warranted and that because they were spending money in an effort to fix the issue, I should be satisfied. What I would have been satisfied with was a little better customer service. How about a ‘I am so sorry for the inconvenience”… something! The shuttles were another issue and there was no wifi, even though they boasted about their free wifi. There was hair on the towels in the bathroom, stains on the sheets, and the non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke. I overheard the manager telling a family that complained of their room smelling that she fixed it by spraying Febreeze. Nice fix. All in all the stay was rectified by a vast discount and knowing my options were somewhat limited in this area. It was a place to crash for the night, but I definitely do not recommend more than that.

Recently I stayed two nights at this hotel. The prices are very economical, however you get what you pay for. To start off, the staff is very friendly, in fact when I was walking out my door, a passing staff member, without prompting ensured I had my roll away bed and gave me directions to the ice machine without me asking, obviously he was in tune with his clientele. So I said thank you and continued down the hall with my ice bucket in hand. The rooms have A/C and Direct TV. The Air conditioners do a great job of cooling the room by blowing the hot air into the hallway. So if you can tolerate the heaters in the hallway, your cold room will feel that much nicer! The rooms also have DirecTV but probably got the cheapest package because I had a hard time finding accessible channels. Once you find a working channel among 345 other ones, I’d sggest you leave it along. My alarm clock was wrong. Apparently, you have to take it apart to set the time so I asked for a wake up call for 7 am instead. At 7:45 when I was awaken by a door slamming next door, it suddenly occurred to me the front desk forgot to wake me up. Although I missed church for the third straight Sunday, this time, it was clearly not my fault! Fortunately they do serve breakfast until 9:00 so I was OK. Breakfast was weird. They had these scrambled eggs which looked like silver dollars and the sausage links were a brownish grey color… maybe they forgot to cook them? I wound up eating the yogurt and hard boiled eggs… BTW, when you boil an egg, it’s 11 mins and then you scoop them out… just sayin. Lastly, the hotel only has one washer and one dryer. The soap dispenser stole my dollar and the washer’s coin slot was jammed. Although the friendly staff was willing to troubleshot the washer, it was rather irrelevant because the dryer was out of service, ergo you’re going to have wet clothes. If you have laundry to do, you have two options here; you can use a local laundromat, but remember you are in Detroit – the local denizens may not take kindly to you… your best option is to turn your clothes inside out and wear lots of deodorant – as long as your whole family does it, no one will ever notice!
